Default I am back :)

I drove a 944 from Lubbock Tx to Costa Mesa Ca yesterday. Not a bad road car 1,150 miles in about 16 hours ... Flew into Dallas week ago last friday to see an 8 million dollar collection of cars and memorabilia sell. Like a neon Cadillac sign for $100,000 plus 10 % buyers fee. Then drove to Lubbock for the week back to Dallas for Friday Saturday at the PATE auto swap at Texas speedway back to Lubbock. Also got a couple of wholesale auctions in on wednesday and Thursday morning. Left Lubbock at 5 AM hit Costa Mesa at about 9 PM only played black jack for about an hour in New Mexico, Rt 66 Casino . And in the whole trip never saw a 928 !

I can only imagine the "Italian driving position" Jim must have had to assume in order to fit into a 944.

And about time, too. Welcome back.

No 928s in sight? I'm not surprized...
they're all laid up for the winter. So I hear. On the board.

G'luck all.

The 944 seats although the same basic frame as the 928 seat has less cushion ...that is good and bad I did tilt the seat back and forth a few times to move the pressure points around a bit....cruise mode was 80-85 MPH did get stopped in AZ for cracked windshield and weird PAPER Texas dealer plate. Officer Morury was a nice guy paced me @ 70 in a 75 zone I knew he was there I really wanted to do a "top gun " hit the brakes and let him blow by in the fast lane but thought better and resisted temptation. I thanked him for the oportunity to get out of the car and stretch did learn that the Crown Vic has a speed limiter but he would not say what it was. He patrols a 60 mile stretch of I -40 usually does 300 miles a day. Said the only Porsches he gets to ticket are Cayennes once in a while .... I got a fix it ticket that he said I should ignore.

This 44 has about 80,000 miles was well cared for until the last owner has a great interior nice black heated seats it may well become a track car possibly 944 Spec racer.
