Default Louie Ott's Monster in June excellence

Great article about Louie and his monster 928, with lots of detail on his build. If you don't subscribe it's worth picking up a copy of this issue.

Thanks for the heads up Jim.

Oh Man, my copy of Excellence always seems to show up about a week later than everyone elses. I can't wait for this one.
I hope they give Louie's car the props its due. Instead of "but it is still not as good as a similarly prepped 911. A watercooled front engine just doesn't have the feel and soul of the classic Porsche" or some such crap

Way to go Louie. I can't think of a better representative of a 928 innovator.

I am a newbie to 928s, but very blessed to have met Louie in person at his home as well as seen his monster in action last summer. I can't ask for a better initiation into 928 ownership last year!

Way to go Professor Ott! Can't wait to read the article, was getting tired reading about another 911 build up, usually where the owner contracts with someone else to build it.

Congratulations,
Constantine

He wouldn't pass tech since he only has a Devek roll bar......3700lbs doesn't really help either...but that still buts him at a power-weight of about 5.4 vs 7.5 for the 375hp holbert 928...... Still not as good as Andersons 4.4 hp/lb....

I caught that clip on one of MK's videos where Kibort is following Anderson through a tight corner and the Anderson car sidesteps out of the corner and just shoots away. What an awesome display of power and car control. Given that MK's car is not exactly slow, I was doubly impressed. If you haven't checked out MK's videos, they are really a treat.

Professor Ott's car is not only a MONSTER...but it's also beautifully executed and masterfully engineered. Those custom wide hips to house the unbelieveably large tires, great paint, custom manifold, Ott-X exhaust, etc, etc. He truly is a gifted mechanic and inventor.

Why "Professor" Ott? He's a consummate scientist who turns research vision into reality.

Congratulations, Louie, I've been waiting for that issue. You do the rest of us owners proud. It's articles like this and the one George S recently did on the Nevada open road runs that improve the perception of the 928 (if not promote a broader desirability of the model. Now if Excellence will adjust its 928 Values section).

Checked tonight at Borders, they still have a full bin of the May issue, no June.
