I say we hit them with letters to the editor as to how much we appreciate the 928 article and how we found it to be fascinating.

How does one get into Excellence anyways? Do you have to save the world from Famine?

I've subscribed to Excellence for about 10 years. From what I've seen, the standards for getting a project car into the magazine are pretty high. Such cars usually have highly modified engines and running gear, along with body modifications. Everything needs to be done tastefully and to high quality. The owners of most cars featured usually pay megabucks to professionals to do the work. Louie easily met their standards while doing all the hard work himself.

I think the article is great, and hugely deserved.

In my case, a friend, Stephen Demosthenes http://www.route30classics.com/ said I should get my car featured in an Excellence article. I said that sounded great, but how to make that happen. Stephen said he'd contact another guy he knew, Peter Linsky, who was an Excellence author and see if he'd be interested. We was, and came over for an interview, pictures, and a ride. Peter told me the magazine was always interested in doing articles on 928s that would capture the interest of their readers. Peter lives near Portland, Oregon, about 100 miles from me. He went to Rennsport this winter and wrote an article on that event. They do get around. I believe I saw that article in Panorama. There is probably an Excellence writer in your area you could contact if only you knew who they were. Possibly write to the editor and ask.

Sterling's masterpiece should be next, then we need to track down the owners of the American Clubsport cars, and then a feature on Mark Anderson/DR/Roger/Carl, then an article on all the folks in the ORR scene, and then the Green Bay crew and that thing with the 8 LM-1's on it, and then......

Who have I forgotten?

Speaking of Excellence reporters-authors....I remember at Devek's SC install day years ago there was a reporter who said he freelances for excellence and was going to do a report of the event....never did see it though??

I did get my copy today. Peter did a very good job, both with the interview and pictures. Some of it was done during the early summer and the rest in late October.

This is awessome. 928's are like hidden treasures waiting to be discovered by more enthusiasts and publicity like this are key.

Sterling can't wait to see your article, I'm sure that will garner a great deal of interest as well.

My daughter has written articles for several magazines also does the photography mostly for Corvette , Muscle cars and Rat Rods. All done as freelance on speculation that she can sell the article, some do some don't. It all depends on the Editors and what they want.

Love reading this. My version of Mark Anderson's old race car as it sits right now is at 11.21 lb/hp! HA HA! No wonder it feels slow under full throttle! LOL!
