Default Recommended Windshield Manufacturer

I'm about to call GEICO and tell them I need a new windshield. It got chipped by a rock and the crack spread quickly.

It has SIGLA windshield in it now. I was told that was a good one.

What is the other stock windshield manufacturer used by Porsche?

I don't want them to put in the cheapest one they can find.

I have the sekurit (spelling?) if you find they cannot get one.
Porsche is about the only source I know especially with the antenna.
Mine are green tint no antenna and $375.

Roger's is a good deal, although shipping & installing are extra. Sigla is only rarely found outside of Porsche and USUALLY expensive. Once in a blue moon someone says they got it installed for something like $300. Porsche sells it for over $1000. Other name brands are Pilkington and PPG. Watch out for unknown Chinese glass. They slipped me one last time and it is visibly distorted in the line of sight.

There was a group buy associated with the last Sharktobersfest and the vendor that coordinated that seems to have connections to Sigla/Pilkington glass for very low prices and appears to be able to get it to you directly.

I need the antenna version. That could be a plus, because they may not be able to find one with the antenna unless it is a SIGLA.

The cheaper windshields have defects and don't have the wide black ban the runs around the edge of the windshield
(that covers over the dash and a-pillar padding edges so they can't be seen outside of the car when looking in).

When I had mine replaced 4 years ago, Diamond Glass could only get the antenna in Sigla. Am waiting for insurance approval for a new one again, and Diamond again could only find antenna version directly from Porsche dealer, see my post on the joy riding punks.

I scored a sigla with antenna from ebay about 16 months ago. With shipping it was around $500 + $100 to install.

Michelle at WindshieldExpo 877-452-7754 was the one who did the Sharktoberfest Special. She has also arrainged installs all over the country.
