Rolf, you've been to a few of these. I'm sure you shared the very broad, almost infinitely broad definition of "the right clothes" for car events like this. Almost anything can (and usually will) be considered appropriate.

Bob-
When you're sitting in front of some giant turbine calculating its next MTBF and have some time to kill, could you commit to e-paper your paint chip repair? I've got a bunch on my nose that need some attention. Are you using one of those Eastwood measle shavers? (http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?i...emType=PRODUCT)
Where do you source the touch up paint? I presume this is your paint code?

The touch-up procedure is a mix of Larry Reynolds' stuff from his carcareonline.com website, mixed with other stuff I've learned from others and by trial-and-ERROR. Thin paint blend. Toothpick for application.
The measle blade is a good single-edged razor blade, honed on one side with a hard Arkansas stone to finer/sharper edge and the right slope. That suggestion came from Keith Widom, and may be specific to German Measles but I'm not sure. I add a little thin tape on the corners of the blade sometimes, but it's generally pretty basic. The touch-up paint is some R-M Delstar enamel black I bought 15 years ago for touch-up on another car, and it works fine. Have a quart of it, with hardner and solvents. Maybe we need to do a black-car stone chip repair clinic. If you trust me to do some slight metal reformation and finishing, we can do that little eyebrow lift for you too. There's a touch-up gun in the locker here for just such emergencies.
