**** Leather Refurb Question
I just received shipment of a Momo Club 4 steering wheel (eBay) and it had a small shipping "indent" in the wheel facing. So, I sopped it with Leatherique oil, heated it with a hair dryer, and rubbed the dent out. It came out nicely...but...it seems to have rubbed off a small bit of the shiney leather surface.
It's no big deal, but does anyone have an idea on how to restore this so it matches the surrounding surface? I'd be the only one to ever notice...but it does makes me nervous knowing..
Also, I've seen this kind of surface sheen wear on seat bolsters. Dye will put the color back right, but the surface is different.
Any simple tricks here?
Thanks,
H2

Well, back to talking about steering wheels...
The Club 4 surface is rather matt/low gloss when new, not shiny. You might try to dye the whole wheel and see how it comes out or use a treatment to de-gloss the whole wheel then re-dye if needed.

Did you buff it after the softener treatment.
(I will bite my tongue. So much enuendo to smear around)
Like buffing nice leather shoes during a shine.
Hey Doc. Are you using 1 finger or the whole fist.

Man I'm surprised others haven't jumped all over this topic, talk about leaving the door open.
To the question..... I would use the leatherique on the entire steering wheel to make it match. So long as it's not discoloring the leather and it doesn't look bad it's going to be the easiest way to get it to match.

I think buffing will do it. Why didn't I think of that? I'll bet that will work! But I ain't using my tongue.
