Gerry: Bring the weedeater.

Also, everybody - bring your favorite waxes or other detail products so we can compare them.

How ' bout a "flo-bee" ??? as seen on TV !!!

For those wanting to wash or detail, I have plenty of buckets and various means to dry cars. I also have a few micro fibers, however please think about bringing your own towels. I would prefer to not have to do multiple loads of laundry to clean a bunch of "car towels", if avoidable.

See you all in AM.

I didn't have my camera, but George's car is shiny now like it hasn't been in years. BIG thanks to Jim for hosting the event at his house and providing lunch. He and Brian pulled out all the the heavy detailing artillery to try to accomplish in a few hours what really needed about 2 days of labor. The grime had become part of the paint, the end we got everything off that could come off and left the car looking very respectable.

Despite the weather forecast of cold, overcast and windy, it was quite a nice day after all. We had 12 or 13 cars and owners including some new faces.

Also, we all got to see Dennis's motor and Jim's custom shocks and talk about them in detail. And Jim even pulled out the 4-gas analyzer so we could pre-smog George's car. Gave us all a good opportunity to confirm the need to have the car real HOT so the stock cats do their job. Even siting a few minutes caused the HC numbers to climb until the cats got real HOT again, which took quite a while - several minutes at 3000 RPM before the numbers would finally go in the right direction. Anyway, George's car should pass smog and look good doing it.

Thanks again to Jim and Brian.

I barely recognized it too!!!

The really killer photos that showed how much junk was imbedded in the paint George didn't post.....on the rear bumper it was literally gray...with all kinds of carbon buildup AFTER we washed it...but it came off with polishing.... in an ideal world to get the car up to a concours level it would take me at least 2 solid days...just on the paint!!

I figure this wax job is worth at least 5mph..... So you better spend some quality time with the Beast and your cyclo to equal things out!!

By the way Brian, you have my permission to use the photos taken of my car
at that event to illustrate any detailing tips you may what to post.

Brian, I think Tim will be letting Cheryl drive some this year, so he may have
her spend the quality time getting the car cleaned and waxed...

You know better than that Brian, the Beast is ready to go mechanically & cosmetically for the NORC in May. We will be running a 180 mph average so I'm not concerned about 200 + this time. Cheryl will take over the car after that and work her way up to the Super Sport class in the MKM events. She has to start in the 130 class initially because she has always navigated. The pressure will be on the right seat now
