This is the second time someone has posted that they need details.
Kim said she needed details about vendors and we heard nothing at all back to help us..
McLovin please tell us what details you need to help you be interested in a track day?
Please be proactive we are not mind readers - sorry.

I noticed there are several posts that indicate you need some feedback on why people have questions and when you try to answer the questions, you may not get a response back. I think one big reason is that there isn't a single point for information on the meet. There is this thread, but it is now 23 pages long and expecting people to go through each page to try and find the information they need is not reasonable. The thread isn't "stickied" so may not be readily available to find for those who want to see it. The web page at http://www.928ocicdfw09.com/ hasn't been updated for months I think, so that isn't of much use the way it is. People need to know what is going to happen, where it will happen, and at what day and time it will happen. I saw a post that there will be dyno availability at a local dyno manufacturer on Friday. Ok, great. What is the address, and when will it be open and when will it close. Where is it located in relation to the coliseum? Can you get your car out of the coliseum parking and back in again if you want to go. Apparently there will be an autocross too, but exactly when and where? The drive outs on Sunday. Do you have maps? Will there be a group dinner? When? Where? If so, do we need to submit menu choices? You, or anyone else, shouldn't have to answer everyone's questions individually but you do need a continuously updated central location where information can be found. The http://www.928ocicdfw09.com/ site seems the logical place. It needs a complete schedule of events, not just words about how great the meet will be. If not there, and Rennlist won't keep the OCIC thread stuck at the top, then try over at Reutterwerks. I'm not trying to be overly critical, but your life will get a lot easier if interested people could get information (what, where, when) without needing to ask for each bit. Too bad the track day didn't work out. I was left with not knowing where the track would be, what were the requirements, how much would it cost. Apparently others were unsure too. The very first time I was ever on a track was at the first OCIC meeting in Wichita and the track was near Tulsa. I'll never forget it. Yes, the track events are for noobs and you don't need the fastest, or anything except good brakes and safe tires.

Louis,
Thanks for the feedback and we take your comments on board.
Very good points and sometimes we are too close to it to understand the needs of you folks out there.
We will get the web site updated to include more information in the next couple of days.

928 Owners Club International Convention.
Arlington, Texas.
July 31st to August 2nd 2009.
Friday July 31st - We are starting to put together an Autocross event to be held on the car park at the convention center (not yet confirmed). Times will depend on the number of attendees. It can take place all day if needed. For starters lets say 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Dynocom - http://www.dynocom.net/ have also agreed to open up their facility all day on the Friday and allow our cars to be run on their dyno all day. We will charge a nominal $30 per car for three pulls.
The money will mostly go to a charity of Dynocom's choosing. Times have yet to be confirmed but they said all day. They have a large car park and we will set up a covered area with refreshments for those partipating.
During Friday afternoon the convention center will be open and cars can be brought in and parked.
The Sheraton hotel is about 100yds walking distance from the convention center.
Friday evening we will be holding a informal reception at the Sheraton hotel with a cash bar and finger food. Finger food is part of the $30 you pay for meals.
Starting at 7.00pm and finishing late.
Saturday August 1st - Mostly in the convention center in air conditioned comfort. There will be vendors demonstrating their products and skills. Paintless dent repair, detailing services, tech demonstrations. We have also invited some of the larger vendors to present there products but no takers so far.
Lunch is provided at mid-day and part of the meals you paid for. Tables and chairs will be right their in the center of all the cars.
In the afternoon there will be the judging of the various catagories of car shows.
Lots of door prizes and general frivolity. Prizes for the farthest traveled participants and other fun subjects.
A Grand Dinner is being held in the evening and again the food is part of the meals you have paid for.
Special presentations to individuals who have given much to the community.
Dancing and drinking will be encouraged.
Sunday will be a free day apart from two tours that will leave about mid morning and head in two seperate directions and stop somewhere nice for lunch. Those heading out of town can leave at any point but still be part of the fun.
Thats about it for now and as you have guessed a lot going on behind the scenes.
I will get this into a better form and make sure it is added to the web site.

The Sheraton is screwing up the room charges for the event again.
Rooms are $119 a night at the special rate but for some reason they have reverted back to $139.
I just sorted it so be patient.

Yes, I knew about that, I just didn't want people to be expecting "the man" himself and be dissapointed

Maybe if we get the 928 Owners Club to buy and give away 10 SharkTuners as door prizes we can get him to come. This would probably get more peole to register too!!! 928ers are like most peole and love to get cool free stuff for Door prizes!!
Also get him a cool suit for the dang hot weather in Texas in July/August. I already bought mine off of Ebay :-)
On the other hand, I know John is working like a mad scientist on some amazing great new stuff for 928s so maybe we should let him work while he is on a roll !!

Uh, what they said- the ones with whom I agree. Make it 31 & 41 cars, Rogette- me,the alien and halfbreeds will attend.
I am willing to embarass myself in an autocross. Maverick (Dallas) PCA used to be really keen on those, and kings of the conekillers.
Will get that pesky registration in right after my tax rebate form.
Cheers,
Don

I talked to a PCA guy today and he was pretty sure PCA would not be willing to rent out the autoX equipment since this was not a PCA sanctioned event. Being as it is not, and PCA equipment were involved, they would be worried about a lawsuit if something were to go bad.
I am going to contact a couple of other people and see what we can do from that aspect. I suppose it might be a bit late to try and involve the local PCA chapter, but if past experience is any indication, they won't be the least bit interested in being involved with us.
