They're like user ratings. Anybody can get some stars, but somebody other than yourself has to give them too you. Oh they can also be taken away too!

 

or you can just not play...

Ignore them. They know nothing. You pay me- weekly is preferred but we do have monthly plans. (John D. & Randy V.- don't worry, your end is protected)

Ratings are given by Board participants based on the perceived value a person adds to the forum. Those ratings are completely arbitrary - I don't put much value in them myself.

To give a person a rating, click on the link 'user rated' under the person's Board name then select the rating from the dropdown menu on the right of the screen.

The system then calculates the total number of votes against the total ratings to give the average number of stars as that person's rating.

You cannot see who voted for you, although you can see who you voted for when you click on the 'my profile' link located at the upper right of the Board. You can also disable your rating so no stars are displayed.
