Default Wonder if my computer is trying to tell me something... (Slightly OT)

Check out the memory usage:

And no, it isn't fabricated; just a coincidence I happened to notice and quickly grabbed a screenshot of before it changed.

On another note, I learned recently that Porsche Club Denmark has 28 928s..
Just some funny coincidences.

Cheers,
Erling

You're right, "Memory Usage" is completely misspelled...

Aside from "928M" the three line graphs look a bit like a face with sort of a "whatever" expression. Like this --> :\

Based on what I see, your computer has been infected. It a variant of the 'Danish-pastry word scramble' attack. The only solution is to get a very big, very strong magnet and set it close to your disk for oh, about 10-12 hours. Tongue-firmly-in-cheek.

(p.s. DON'T do this!)

Lol guys

Doc, no worries - no magnets getting near my disc

Actually reminded me of a thread in a computer tech forum, where someone had overheating problems. It was suggested he might try water cooling (in earnest). Guy came back very angry; claiming he had dipped his PC in water and now it didn't work! Laughter rolled for several pages afterwards and no one believed he had actually done it. Kept insisting though, so finally some started to wonder if it was really true. Goes to show that people do not always percieve things the way you expect them to..

Cheers,
Erling

28... u dont say.. nice coincidence.. nine 28

A bit off topic .. maybe :

I recently got a message from Kjetil from Norway, he suggested a meet for Porsche owners in Scandinavia (in Kr.Sand or Stavanger)

(i live up north, so it's not far from here)

What do you think about this suggestion... it's easter soon....

Cheers,
Bernhard

I would love to participate, but if it's as soon as easter I'd have to give it a miss I'm afraid. Trying to keep expenses a little in check, and I'm already signed up to visit the Porsche factory at the end of may. Stuttgart and back is a roundtrip of roughly 2000km, and the fuel bill alone for that in a 928 is around 2800 DKr ($580 for our U.S. friends), as you know. A quick calculation puts travel expenses for me & the 928 to Kristiansand in the 4000 Dkr bracket (fuel, ferry, hotel stay), so not insignificant unfortunately (In addition, I 'accidently' ordered a leather luggage cover from Paul Champagne, so it starts to add up..)

Cheers,
Erling

Yes it's a bit expensive visiting norway for the weekend i guess. I'm also scheduled for the Porsche visit in may, but i'm departing for Germany on the 25'th may, my pop lives just 150 km from the factory, so ill stay there a few days (and try his 82' 911 SC) before joining the rest of the troupe.

Cheers,
Bernhard

And your computer is infected, it's a the danish version of the "Norwegian language version" virus, common here in Nisse (Norway..).

These viruses are very annoying; they also occur in other software, such as a former version of MS-Excel, where the macro-language was translated to norwegian..

@ Erling & Bernhard

Stop by Nürburgring when you're in Germany. We're flying down on the 22nd of May and are going to watch the 24 hours race the 24th to 25th. A friend of mine is going to participate and we'll be drinking beer and cheering him on. We'll be driving around in some dull rental so it would be nice to see som 928's

Christian, that would be nice.

Let's see how the logistics works out when we get closer to the event. Factory visit is on the 30th, so 24th-25th may be a tad early for us. Also not sure at this point whether I'll be driving alone, have a co-driver or perhaps be someone else's co-driver and thus not bring the 928 at all.

Cheers,
Erling

About
HTML Code:
was suggested he might try water cooling (in earnest).
Some years ago I worked for a US based computer main frame manufacturer.
They had a new model that had a water cooling system with fine pipes running around the internals. Turned out of the chemicals used to stop water freezing or algea/fungus growing in the water that one was poisonous & the other was carcinogenic.
So, worried about litigation from the engineers working on this beast the engineers had to wear hazard suits and go through an anti contamination spray afterwards.

Don't think this model ever got to market
