Long story short, that is Todd's new supercharger. I was at his house on Saturday checking out his projects and going over details for my engine. Saw one of your pan spacers, very nice!!
Anyway, I've been working on a new site for all of Todd's projects and maybe some new products to be sold by Murf928.
My entire web hosting company took a crap and I'm trying to rebuild everything with a new host, so the new site is not up yet. Bored this past weekend I made the signature picture just for the hell of it.
I'm also making a 3 1/2 foot wide poster of that shot for his garage.
Impeller on the ProCharger looks like a jet turbine engine, pretty sweet.
Ok, back to the thread

Yes, pics of beautiful engines are nice on my eyes too.
That one is a distinctive gem of a hot-rodded 928 mill. Good job on the detail work, toofast928.
Waiting patiently for the dyno chart... May? Ah springtime, when the gearhead's mind turns to unleashing the winter project onto the world...

I agree gray is a good engine color.
I was thinking of paiting my next engine (not the intake) Ford Blue just for a goof.

looks like an eRAM in the front, or a tornado air twister
is that the inlet to the supercharger?? that is really cool! better put a filter over that, or it will be a vacuum cleaner for the track

I like the grey intake and engine parts! It looks very German, very military! Like an engine you'd see in a German WW2 fighter aircraft or something! Very nice!

scrap the cams--use Euro's.
scrap the manifolds--use headers
interesting cam tower breathers--God knows every 16V needs them
makes mine (hybrid engine in the works) look primitive......

78-79 cams are better suited for boost - per people a lot smarter than me on the subject.
85-86 (and S4) manifolds have been flow tested and work just fine up to 700ish hp. Would he gain something from equal length tuned headers? Probably, but where do you draw the line on these projects?
Just playing devils advocate here, not trying to pick a fight

Thanks for the comments on the grey intake. I wanted silver but the powder coater didn't have. First he shot dark gray like a Mack truck engine, then light beige. The double coating is thick, filled in the diviots. It's growing on me.
Believe it or not, HP was not my main goal. Reliability and torque is. I was happy with 330hp from the old 4.5L but cracked 3 pistons. That lead to the 5.0L.
When discussing horsepower, first thing to consider is the platform to be used. In my case total HP is limited by few factors: Budget, Fuel System, Boost level Powerdyne is reliable at, Porsche cast pistons, USA Heads, and most important, -How much HP is enough FOR ME.
Rebuilding a 928 engine has been fun. But it'll be another 20 yrs before I do it again.
The exhaust manifolds are Swain ceramic coated. (not painted white). Improves the cylinder scavenging and cuts down on the heat in the engine compartment. Somthing to consider since my engine harness are getting brittle.
Hacker is correct. CIS 79 cams are the best combo lift/duration for blower use. I didn't want a chance a custom grind cam breaking up in the engine.
Thanks,
Tony
