Default speake tool (JDS Porsche)

I have aquired a spanner from the estate of our friend Doc Mohr that was a prototype of some sort. Does any body know anything about it? Maybe John himself will chime in.

I think you'd need to put '88 or later chips in your '87 to get full use out of it, since the '87 chips don't have the diagnostic capabilities of the later ones.

Larry, I had my LH rebuilt by Rich Andrade and foreseeing a possible need ,I had him install the correct chipset at the time.

You also need correct cable for it to work on older S4's.

Vilhuer, it came with two cables, which is needed on the 87? One is circular and looks like a din type, and the other is square with the pins pointing up.

Hello Kevin,
This "Spanner" is mechanically identical to all other units delivered. It is the software that is different, in that is covers 944S, 968, 964. It also covers 928 of course. Scott was evaluating this "other car" software for me.

Thanks Don, Thanks John. John, are you saying this still belongs to you? Let me know please. Also does the software include operating instructions?
Thanks,
Kevin

Hello Kevin,
No, I wasn't implying ownership :-)

Scott bought the Spanner at a reduced price, the deal was that he would evaluate the "other cars" part of the software and give me feedback. He owned the Spanner, and the the installed software.

John, I knew you weren't implying ownership. I was concerned that it was still yours, so I could get it back to you! I once again Thank You for developing this and other tools for our sharks.

OK Kevin ! Enjoy !

Did it come with the CD-ROM ? That has all the instructions. You can also download the instruction manual from my website.

Yes it came with the CDROM. I just need to figure out where to plug it in. I haven't viewed the CD yet.
