I had searched to try and find what your exact goal was, so thanks for explaining that above.

Are you going to use all 1000hp of the NOS right away, or "bleed" it on in stages as you accellerate ?

and while were at it, I'll ask what IS the fastest "street" driven Porsche in the world. Isnt there a Ruf or 9ff that has done 252 mph? (granted they had a large track to do it on)

Hi

Poll idea is fine

I will accelerate "gradually" with the controller at nowhere near 100% or 1000 hp ..UNTIL i hit fourth gear on my auto box...

Then I have a separate program dialed into the controller...I hit ONE button...and I get 100% but in gradual increments...like 20/40/60/80/100% so plus 200 hp / plus 400 hp /plus 600 hp/ plus 800 hp /plus 1000 hp...etc...

Now the TIME between each percentage is critical,,,,I can set it at anything from 100th of a second upwards to 4 seconds...

Until the new system is fitted I cannot work out the timing needed precisely, but I have a pretty good idea...

I think a RUF Porsche at Nardo ran a 246 mph, but thats rumour, I have never seen the figures or any proof...and thats in what used to be EAST GERMANY, so doesn't bother me in my Uk attempt

And for another question in this thread, yes I will be using a Stroud chute ,which will slow my speed by roughly 50% in UNDER a second...

All the best Brett

Like I've said before, on paper this is possible (assuming the engine holds). In real life, there are a few factors that cast serious doubt.

Has anyone answered the question as to which transmission he has? What is the rear end ratio?
Hi

Transmission is a 2.357 and my tyres are not that skinny lol...10 inch wheels with 275/40 x 18`s

I wont tell you the maths for top speed...I know it but will let you work it out...

For some reason I thought you were running stock 8 x 16 wheels. Ok, you are not quite as nuts as I originally thought

I still think he's nuts.

But it's the good kind.

1/2 your speed in 1 second! I guess you'll have some kind of Hans device to keep your head from snapping off when the chute opens up. Good luck and be safe!

Hi

The 928 S2 in the Uk had a choice of a 2.357 (mine) or an optional 2.538

The manual S2 got a 2.727...with no optional...

It seems that every reason we come up with why this run will not be successful, Brett has thought of long ago and solved the problem. You'd think he would have had the decency to consult with us first.

Hi

Lol, don't forget that years ago I used to do this for a living, as a crew chief...

Sorry I didn't ask for advice first but I figured that for 2 reasons I shouldn't..

1. You would all think I am nuts, which turned out to be correct lol

2. I thought that there would be too MUCH input into HOW to do it...and that would confuse me because I am ancient

As far as what I have done to the car, I have methodically thought a lot about each item and what I would have to do to improve my chances, e.g Nitrous, wheels, tyres, aerodynamics etc etc...

Then over the last 18 months I have done whatever I considered needed to each section....and now here I am near the end...

I assure you I just didn't bolt on 1000 hp bottle and think...oh thats it now, off we go and try.....

Don`t forget its my daily driver and I would like to keep it that way, although I must add that as it nears completion its looking more like a racer every day

All the best Brett

id be more concerned with stopping the car.

back to talking about the bugatti, from 250MPH, even with its (i think) ~16" carbon ceramic brakes and its .6G airbrake/spoiler it still takes about a third of a mile to stop.

with your stock brakes (not accounting for the chute), assuming you stood on the pedal and it took 10 seconds to stop by my math it would take about 2000ft.

Hi

Yes but my chute will bring me down from say 220 to 110 in UNDER A SECOND...

Braking from 110 is no problem

Your maths is very good by the way...without the chute I worked it out at 590 yards

All the best Brett

be sure to pin your head back against the chair because that is going to be a hell of a violent yank.

I must admit i have a new respect for him trying this.

If he gets 1000 HP out of the stock block then i think it would do allot for all of us knowing how strong the heart of our cars are. Lets hope he does it.
