I'm of the opinion that if he does get that much power to the wheels, he will
hit 200+ mph, but will break something in the process. This was not one of the
poll options, but was mentioned a few times. It's not that he did anything wrong,
it's just that the system (928) was not designed for that much power over such
a distance and it will over stress some component(s) in the process. If it's a
minor incident, then he will fix it and try again. If it's a major flaw, then we'll have
to see what happens.

Tim,

I'm planning on switching tires this year to the PS2 275/35ZR18 (95Y) tire. This
will decrease the gear ratio by about 4% and should get you ~4 mph more top
end with the same rwhp you had last year. This tire wasn't available when we
got our tires 2 years ago. I think you're using the same tires as I was last year...

By the way, the 2.357 final drive ratio would get you about a 7% reduction,
but wouldn't get much more top speed, given the hp curve and rpm.

Hi

The 7% is the precise figure I worked out that I will be overdiving my gearing to give me a little more top speed.

Which is why I went for 275/40 and not 275/35....

All the best Brett

Hey, Thanks George. Good find. I was looking into having custom machined final drive gears, but this is much cheaper.

Hi

Shouldn't be hard to find a 2.357 as most S2`s in the Uk have that ratio...

All the best Brett

From what I'm hearing, Brett should have one of the race car custom seat companies "mold" a special seat for him that will accommodate his oversized *****. Or, alternatively, put him in a straight jacket before he goes airborne at 220mph and climbing!
