I actually think seeing the impeller through the exhaust pipe looks pretty cool. Of course it is not going to look all nice and shiny for long, as you have seen in the picture. My biggest worry would be that one of my kids..... ehemm, one of the neighbor kids would jam a stick up there and wreck the impeller. Imagine a few bent blades and then wick that bad boy up to 60-70,000 rpms..... yikes!

I've never heard what one sounds like, but I would like to.

I have had guys pull me over to take pictures with their cell phones of the exhaust set-up.....if my grandson stuck anything up my tailpipe (is this actually a real fear?), I would call my insurance company for damage and "malicious mischief" under my homeowners policy, the same approach if my grand-daughter set the car on fire in the garage....but then I guess I really have some behavior problems.....with those pesky ankle biters.

If there was something the RMT group needed that Tim was able to provide, you know what? He would help. That's the difference between people like Tim Murphy and you.

Lighten up Francis.

That's a lot of pipes! Not to say that's bad... just an observation.

To be sure, it's fair to compare and contrast them. But blatantly turning the focus away from RMTs in this thread is just more of the same old same old. = yawn

Have I ever met you? Spoken on the phone? Have you ever asked for any assistance from me? You have no idea who I am or what I'm about. I guarantee I don't fit into any of your hueristics. Check out the 928 from FL to NY thread.

Hey Thurston..aren't you now gainfully employed 9 to 5er?.......You shouldn't have time to play with cars anymore LOL. I think Chuck will be putting it in..but they want you there to duct tape the wire connections

Aside from that..no big deal discussing the SCers here.....Boost is boost...these are just several different ways of getting more air in the motor, and all the stuff that Tim came up against is the same stuff the RMT guys have encountered for the most part... except for those bastard child roots guys...now those are the ones you have to watch out for...that is just unnatural LOL

Just curious:
1. What size do you think the exhaust and intake tube are?
2. What vacume source is used on the waste gate/pop off valve?
3. How/where do you tie into the engine oiling system for the turbo?

It looks like there is a T in the vacume line in picture #3. It runs to the inlet side of the turbo. I can't tell by the pictures if this is the same line that continues on to the waste gate???

Edit: Even if a kit never becomes available it seems like any competent exhaust shop could fabricate the exhaust and intake tubing. The trick is to find a place that can/will do this for less than a welder and a tubing bender (if you decide to go completely DIY) which seems doable.

Myself and everyone else around here can only go by how you present yourself on the boards (until they meet you in person).

So if you don't like the impression you are leaving, it’s no one else’s fault but your own.

Tim Murphy is a very beneficial character to the 928 world (even more so to the boosted crowd). And all you have to say about him in this thread is: “yawn, same old same old….”? That speaks volumes.

Why is it in every boosted thread someone like Courtshark comes along and sticks their dick in the mashed potatoes?

opinions are like manly essences

I have no problems with Tim Murphy. In fact, I salute him as an innovator. So far, he's an OK guy by me. I happen to dislike superchargers as they put an additional load on the engine when otherwise free energy is being spit out the exhaust and not being put to good use. That's the basic premise chief. If I wanted to talk about superchargers I'd log on to the twin screw thread.

If you want to take my "yawn" as some kind of personal insult then you have bigger issues that no 11 posts per day over 7 years can help you with. Your real name isn't Phil Lacefield, is it?

Hacker-
For the love of God, don't put Tim on too high of a pedestal. I know him personally, and wel... I better shutup.
