that ebay linked turbo... is insanely cheap for a turbo. Kinda scary how cheap it is.

As far as turbo sizing... that's a science all to itself. Basics... smaller = faster spool = more low end torque but less HP/torque @ top end. Try to spin them too fast, they get crazy hot and inefficient. But they can fit just about anywhere. Bigger = slower spool and non-existent low end torque, but sky's the limit on top end power. Hard to fit into tight engine bays/crowded undersides!

For a 5 - 10 psi set up, a T3/4 would be great, if not overkill. I used a customized TE05 Mitsubishi turbo on my Saab that was fantastic; good for 25 psi.

Not sure what specific set up is on these RMTs, but 928s do have great low end torque as it is, so a big turbo could work, unless space requirements dictate otherwise.

Beautiful set up on the Vette.

A single T3 (any flavor) on a 928 would be too small and would choke at higher RPMs, unless you were looking at a max of about 400hp at the crank. If you want a single turbo in a 928, you really have to step up to a T4 to get good power. Since even in NA form there is good torque at low RPM, this should not be an issue. Oh, and my SAAB hits 25psi just fine with the stock T-25

The spool up is affected by the length and temperature with the turbo at the back. The information I have found says that a smaller turbine, and a same-size-for-engine compressor is what is required. So a sizable compressor, but a smallish turbine to get the spool going before 3000rpm.
