Default 928 wrench in Sac-town?

I have a customer who has a place in Sacramento and just bought a 90S4... can anyone recommend a GOOD 928 mechanic in the area to do tb/wp etc?

TIA

If you supply the garage space, there is the Bill Ball Express WP/TB service

Seriously, if you want it towed to the bay area, my mechanic can do it.

There are a couple Porsche shops in Sac, but I don't know if they have 928 experience.

Does he have a garage? We could have a TB/WP party some weekend. Best to do it at his place, in case we run into a problem and can't get it done in one day. I've done a couple OB's and my S-4. We could probably get Bill to help out as well.

The more I think about it....Bill is "retired".....probabaly could use a short road trip for the 928 and a few bucks on the side!!!!

There is a difference between helping and doing a paid job. If you ask Bill to help you he's not looking for payment, but are you speaking for Bill that he would not entertain payment for a repair job?

this is an older gent, we had a tech session here on Sat and he stayed late and assisted me in replacing my ignition switch (held light and handed me tools)
I'm not sure if he has a garage in Sacramento, I told him to join Rennlist
I'm sure he'd love to be involved so he can see the inner workings... he stopped me numerous times Sat to explain things to him
a shop may be best for the 1st time

I am speaking about my conversations with Bill about him doing this (928 repair/upgrade work) as a paid professional, and my understanding out of the conversation was ... I like helping others and this is the joy in it for me ...

I asked him once about paying him to do my PorKen tensioner upgrade, and I got, Gee, I'd be happy to help you do it and it sounds interesting.

Now I can be completely wrong, so somebody (ie Bill) please correct me and my understanding.

Cheers,
Andre

I have done some paid work on a 928. Actually quite a bit of work. Hundreds of hours. It became a REAL chore. Like Andre said, I much prefer wrenching together for free to wrenching alone for money. It's a lot more fun, and I usually learn a lot more working with someone else. If somebody REALLY needs something done and would rather I do it alone and doesn't mind unwarranted amateur work, I could do it. But when Andre asked about installing the tensioner, I wasn't going to let him off the hook that easily.

It does sound like this owner is interested in learning about 928's......sounds like a perfect candidate for a TB party!!!! Assuming he has a garage to do it it?

OOPS, I forgot to mention that you had done work in the past.
