as stan said, i have the car (along with some others) and it's presently going back together to hopefully run again this spring.
both heads did crack (due to freezing water) which is a shame since they had alot of work in them but the block checked out ok with pressure testing. fortunately i had another set of heads laying around that i was able to get modified to match the ones that were damaged. the motor is back in waiting to get connected to the drivetrain (i have too many projects and too little time/motivation.)
the video posting is actually of the car prior to the throttle body setup. don never ran the car on the track after the new motor was built, only on the dyno. i would guess it should sound the same or perhaps better now. it does provide some motivation to get things done though-thanks for posting it

A 90 degree V-8 is a 90 degree V-8 (unless it has a 180 crank) and firing MUST have two cylinders on the same bank fire next to each other . That is the burble of a V-8 with dual exhausts The rythmic pattern of the skipped beats to many sounds like music. Music being a repeated pattern of random noise ! A large loud single exhaust remixes the skips and beats giving a smooth High RPM sound ....the old very brown 1980 you hear all 198 Horses screaming Willow springs turn 8 big sweeper at 6,000 rpm in 4th gear OH YEA !!!

Can we change this discussion to why a single exhaust sounds the way it does compared with a dual exhaust?

I was planning a dual exhaust, but if there is little difference between a 2.5 dual and, say, a 3.5 single, it seems a better use of resources and space to just run the single.

But I must avoid, at al costs, DRONE.

The single exhaust in a larger size weighs less than a dual set up with two smaller pipes ... tuning the music is very , very subjective.

Right. But the droning of a larger tube can get quite annoying at highway speeds.

I think muffler type and placement has more to do with drone than pipe size.

Thats inviting as an idea. So early muffler or late? Meaning close or far from the headers?
