Hi fellas, I need help finding the angle of the hood at rest. I'd do it on my own car but it's 30 miles away at the body shop. I need to know the angle of the hood above the engine. If someone has an angle finder I'd appreciate it if you could lay it on the hood (with the car level obviously) & let me know the result. I'm trying to fabricate the airbox for my ITB setup. Here's some pics.
Thanks, Hammer

I'm not sure I understand -- the hood is curved front to back, so the angle changes gradually from 0° at the rear edge to about 7.5° over the center of the intake to 20° at the front edge.

Also, the stock intake top is canted about 7.5° relative to the motor with the front being only 4" above the top edge of the cam cover. There appears to be about 2" of clearance between the top of the intake and the hood, but I just eyeballed that.
Have you checked with Louie? What you are doing looks just like the challenge he faced.

Malcolm thanks for the thought, I think Bill bails me out. Bill, I really appreciate you taking time to give my answer. I'm chomping at the bit to work on the airbox/MAF mount but was stymied without the angle. You know how it is when you have an idea you can't work on due to lack of information.

That looks insane! very cool. But, it doesnt look like its going to fit.
how did you make the mounts to the heads? make some cut out that mirrored the stock S4 intake?
I would love to do this.
since its your owne design, why not just angle the throttle bodies to they run past each other, kind of the concept of the Phil T design, but have an air box that feeds both sides.
Didnt L.Ott's poke out through the hood slightly, or did he get it to fit under a stock hood?

Oh, OK - ON TOP of the hood! Looks like you're having a lot of fun and spending a lot of money. I can even see a wad of it in 2 of the above pictures!
