Yes I know this is getting ridiculous. We have discussed the cost of importing from Europe in the past which is clearly prohibitive, but I am wondering if the same applies to 928's from Japan. I am of course referring to the 1990 S4 on ebay. The cost to buy it and deliver it to the U.S. is pretty cheap. Is the legalization/emission process and expense the same as if it were a car from England for example?? If not it could be a screaming deal. I can't help but prospect when it comes to these cars. Please do not be concerned, I'm not going to blow all my money.

If the car is NOT USA spec you have all the same issues and expenses. However many cars in Japan were originally USA delivery car which were then exported to Japan. Getting them back in the U S is much easier and less expensive although the bill of sale and related paperwork in Japanese can get interesting when you deal with your state motor vehicle department

As Jim said its no cheaper, they need to conform to all EPA and DOT standards and finding a good ICI can be a real pain. There is the added expense but also figure 6 months from the car getting on US soil to the time you can drive it.
spend the money from the third on a SC for number 1 or 2 or possibly both.

I saw that car and immediately thought scam. Price way too low and car looked way too good. Huge red flag for me...

"That Ian doesn't apppear to be a very masculine fellow... not that there's anything wrong with that."
Mr. Panzer,
Correct, but Ian has never been about projecting an American image of "manliness". He is a very poetic and sentimental person and songwriter. Of course in 2008 we can look back and laugh at the hairstyles and "femininity" of 80's British musicians, but I have met Ian twice and I can tell you he is truly a dudes dude, and surely one of the most real and easy going "stars" that you could hope to meet. Put on top of that one of the most beautiful and emotive baritone voices and poetic songwriting you have a truly wonderful songwriter who is very much under appreciated. If you would like to hear some of his work p.m. me and I'll email you some mp3's.
