I can add a larger bolt if needed such as a Sae but before I do anything I want to hook it up and see that it will torque to specs. Still can not find the torque settings for the mounting bracket. I will try this first I may not have an issue, just remember this from before but not completely sure, but want to test it first.

I agree with you both. It was a good idea, for some reason I didn't picture what he was talking about, but if it's in the WP then that's the best idea yet!

How 'bout 'dem Packers? Gonna be an interesting weekend out there.

I'm with HP and Mike on this one - replace the water pump with new (and make sure the TB pulley is on the shaft good and tight). The boss on the water pump where the S/C bracket bolts on is raised (closer to the radiator) and clearance to drill and tap straight in may be very tight.

If you must leave the water pump on, then TimeSerts is the way to go.

Stop spending my money I have 500 miles on this pump

There is enough room it's the top one, I did a test fit and the other two torqued to 20 ft pounds, so I need to just use one for the repair. Looks like Timesert or nutsert or whatever will work fine, "should for the money". I'm going to get a right angle adapter for my drill just in case. From what I read Helli coils are not very reliable in the long run. I try not to get to excited about these set backs "don't need another Heart Attack" over some thing like this. Pictures will be provided on my other post A.S.A.P.
Thanks for the help I think

I like Time-Serts, but won't inserting the WP cost you another $200 (WP core charge)? It's a good thing H-P confirmed what H-P said.

Actually its $265 if you include the cost of the insert kit. I don't see the logic behind not just drilling and tapping it up to the next size. You'll have to do drill it to get the insert in there anyways. But this is jsut my oppinion, nothing more.

Ditto on what Imo000 said.......I had this exact secnario and just went with a larger fastener.

All is good.

It was cheap easy and effective.
