I have been thinking about getting a new steering wheel for a long time for a meatier grip when this turned up on the local Porsche forum for sale

Thanks I'm very happy with how it turned out.
I also got 15 and 60mm extensions so I can get it closer and still stretch my legs.
I paid around 300USD for it but it is almost as new which is less than buying it in the US and carrying it with me back home to avoid having to pay customs and VAT fees

I beleive it is marine blue
I'm keeping my original wheel so the car can be returned to factory looks again.
I do like the original wheel but wanted something thicker to grab on to.

Default HELP with a new wheel

Can you guys tell me the best way to do the Momo racing sterring wheel with adapter kit?

Im also interested in the removable wheel, like Chuck briggs had on his race car. (I got real use to it during the enduro race at laguna for a couple of hours!)

I have the bone stock wheel, actually from my 84! Its not bad, but very large, and it makes for an emergency exit out of the car, near impossible. (kind of dangerous)

any help, without having to go on a list search would be great. (prices too)

Chuck, you around?????

thanks,

mk

Both really nice

Can you see all the instrumentation OK through it? I have the stock 4 spoke/lozenge type in my 91 GT. I don't particularly like it but I think the way it is designed so you can see all your dials is good and I think it would irritate me if I didn't have a clear view of them through the will. Other than that I am hoping to upgrade soon myself

Got mine on Ebay with adapter. Those quick releases make a nice 2'' spacer.

My girlfriend got me that exact wheel a few years ago. I think for Valentine's Day. I ended up marrying her...

Not sure what info you need, but its a simple install. Just pull the old wheel, install the adapter in its place, bolt the new steering wheel to the adapter.

If quick release is the plan, same deal.

I bought my Momo with adapter (non-quick release) from these guys.

http://www.ltbmotorsports.com/steeringwheel.html

Here's some pics of the adapters:

Not quick release:

Quick release:

Nice thing about the Momo's and Sparco's is that they share the same bolt pattern, so you can use either adapter with either wheel.

And I can't believe you race with the stock steering wheel! Holy driving a bus. I hate the stock wheel.

I went with a 350mm Momo and love it. Steering "feels" much quicker, and its a bit easier to get in and out of the 928.

And Peter - nice!
