John V.-
I thought you were pointing me to the (obvious) answer to my question, and although your clarification appears to have been unintentional, it was still appreciated.
Earl- thanks for the BTDT input.

I just installed the Anchor $44.95/pair mounts from Autozone in my S3, in stock.

Having held the old Porsche in one hand and the Ford in the other I'm satisfied that the unit that holds a 4.9L iron block in a 1 ton Ford truck is tougher. If the ride is smoother than I've ever known then the choice is good and I'll do it again anytime I have the crossmember off.

Please be shure to get the Anchor mounts (with made in USA stamped into them.) I first went to Pep Boys and they had hydraulic mounts made in China that obviously were not acceptable.

Steve, sorry for the late reply, I haven't checked the list for a few days. The p/n for the Anchor "solid" mount is 2698"S". They just add the "S" to the base p/n. The dimensions are the same as the 2698, but they cost less, as they are not hydraulic. I am honestly pleased with the performance of them so far. Either Anchor mount is available from Rock Auto for less anywhere else I checked. HTH,

Porken, I checked with Energy Suspension on the eurothane mounts, but they don't make them for the Ford trucks/SUV's. They do have them for the Mustangs, but they are a completely different design.

I've not ordered from Rock Auto before, but decided after reading thru this thread to order their Anchor 2698 motor mounts...just $41.07 for the pair (includes shipping to VA). Mike

I installed RA Anchor mounts about 4 years ago and ll is still good. I hear there are different versions of the same mount... luck of the draw I guess.

Here is a good thread on the subject

The quality of the Anchor/Corteco MM's has fallen off a cliff.
Check this out to ensure yours are OK before you use them.

Those Volvo mounts sound interesting! Can you tell us more about it? for which Volvo was it intended? Partnumber?
