found this on Ebay

It even comes with 2 cracked accessories. If your looking for one, beware, I forget which bracket cracks when bottoming out, but its usually a block breaker. Which usually means its not longer worth much.

Definitely some damage to the right side of the engine... smog pump and A/C bracket, not to mention the ominous crack in the right bank timing belt cover. I agree with the potentially FUBARed block assessment.

All it needs is a new block.

either way the guy is crazy... it's a damaged engine worth $1000 maybe

For $10k you should be able to get not only a working 928S motor, but a handy 928S-shaped carrying case for it.

I just laugh at the idea that this thing has only 500 hours on it. Did the rebuilder not clean ANYTHING. Perhaps it was at one time clean looking but its since had a dump truck pour a bunch of dirt on top of it or something. It looks hideous as well.

This guy is in for a rude awakening

It looks like it's sitting in a body shop. They generate a lot of dust. With that starting bid, it will be gathering a lot more dust.

Not a b ody shop, it is a plumbing /heating shop. See the ductwork and the two or three oil sep/filters/whatever sitting by the engine. That engine looks like it has seen water at some point.

Wherever it is, it will be sitting gathering a lot more dust there. Could have been outside for a long time. I see rust in a few spots I have not seen before like the cad-plated distributor cap scews.

Wow...only $10k for a possible worthless cracked block engine..... I'm surprised he doesn't have a line around the block of buyers with cash in hand to buy it!!!

"Had been installed as a new engine (over $10,000 then)" But is it a New Engine. Do you have receipts?

"Very low use on this engine (under 500 hours)" How was this determined? Its not a frieking tractor engine you are trying to sell

"Good or Bad, I am not a dealer" So I guess that is Good?????

"I'm selling this for a friend who is also an honest person." Therefor I am also an honest ebay seller since I am not a dealer, sure....

"He heard the engine run like new before removing" Awesome, I take your word that your friend heard the engine run like new, hmmm

"Has been stored inside since then." Wauw, it really shows from the pics

"For sale elsewhere Auction Can End Without Notice!" Congrats

Yeah i was doing the math myself when i was out running errands just awhile ago, I figured at 30mph average which is what my display tells me, thats still 15,000 miles. Its so odd you would quote an engines use in hours run. I wonder if we asked him how many rpm's its done if he would have an answer.

hours is so vague. You see Rpm's on trucks and hours on equipment, like brush chippers. Odd

Anyway, I thought it was comical, glad i'm not the only one
