Whoops - considering I have a set of 89 heads at home with EGT sensors sticking out.

Not much room up top on his engine. It's alse a pretty huge BOV.

It's not ready for production, still needs further testing. I'm not sure that exact design will work with the OB brake ducts.

However, it's interesting to note that Porsche went to the expense of having each port machined (at least on my '91 GT), so you can swap them to any cylinder you want.

If you set your PET to Euro and click on 108-05 air injection system for cars without catalytic convertor you see how the ports were designed to be used ....

They didn't drill holes for probes themselves to 6 holes but did make threads etc. for all 8.

Pretty trick....Louie Ott has 8 EGT sensors on his monster....that feeds to the computer screen in the dash and shows each cylinder on a bar graph......... Of course 02 sensors gives you even more control of the engine...... The stand alone ECU's can do some pretty cool stuff

Yep.. thats what my car has (UK cars didn't get cat's until 1990).

Makes it a bitch to undo the coolant drain plugs on the block.. those hard lines are exactly in the way, so long-handled open 13mm spanner and some small hands required!

8 Inovate Widebands! That cost a purty penny! Nicely done! Got a pic of the laptop display? He must have more needles and numbers moving around on a screen than i do on a typical takeoff!

No - good idea. I'll snag one the next time I'm at his garage.

He told me about this. He said the variation from midrange to top end on certain cylinders was downright.... Scary. I think I am using my words, but it was a conerning different between the short and long runners even on boost. I want to recreate this, as I will be on the edge of the stock block as well. I need more pics of how he did it at the head.

He said there was a 1/4 inch pipe that stuck into the port just a bit.

Todd doesn't intend to keep all that monitoring equipment on his car, it's just there now so he can
tune it then drive it . Once a final mapping was done there wouldn't be a need to have it on there .
That whole elabrate set up will probably be shared by those of us that have a stand alone mgt system on our car's. Todd is building a base map for the 7-ltr S.C. mtr he is building for me, it will
enable me to start my new mtr for the very first time and not have to worry about any overly lean or rich
condition's on a fresh mtr, He will send me the monitoring equpt, when he ship's the motor to me in Calif, (he doesn't know that yet)
When I'm done tuning it I'll send the octapus back to him then probably Hacker Pschorr will use it then
Todd will probably build a non-stock motor, unlike the one he has now which was only intended to
learn two thing's 1. learn as much as possible about our Autronic SM4 mgt system's & 2. see what
it takes to properly tune a 928 mtr( not make max power-now) just learn what the mtr, need's. The
big hp #'s he's been making lately are a direct result of what a proper tune can do, not his quest to
make max power -- that will come later and oh boy will he ever set some high bench mark's.
Yes, 2008 will be good for the whole 928 community...

Step 1 - find a way to adapt this setup to a 16V motor since those heads do not have the EGT ports.

Todd already has it in his head how to do this. Just need to extract that data
