Default Devek radiator

Hi guys,
About 2 years ago got all aluminum radiator from Devek. Today my Coolant light went on, I got under hood and believe it or not, this radiator is leaking from tiny hole on weld between side where lower radiator hose goes and center part. Im gonna call Devek tomorrow, but I was thinking, is it possible to weld it here, locally w/o removing radiator (this hole is very accessible from outside) or just use some kind of compound welds?

I would imagine any good radiator shop is capable of welding aluminum. Not sure about leaving it in place but I'm sure it can be repaired.

Curious do you have a grounding lug on your radiator at the top?

I vote for JB Weld. It should hold it unless you worry about the cosmetical aspect.

Was this ever done to the stock 928 aluminum radiator?

I have no idea, my initial thought would be no. I know my Devek definitely has one. I believe it was also installed by Devek a few years ago, have to dig up the receipt

you have to remove it and have it welded up.

It shouldnt be an issue honestly. Being that the entire thing is made of aluminum (core and endcaps) makes it an easy fix, just fill in the hole with alumium

AND PLEASE DO NOT USE JB WELD! Come one, we don't recommend those kind of repairs here. We only report about them as previous owner BS repairs.

I'm pretty sure their shop is OB so they might not get back to you.

Radiator removal is simple. Just remove it. If the repair is costly, look into replacing it with a 928 Intl radiator. They don't seem to self destruct nearly as often as Devek.

Actually this one looks like solid weld between side tanks and core. At glance I would say that weld is done very accurately. The hole is right on border line of side tank and weld itself.

HTML Code:
The Devek ones are use epoxy to connect .....
I believe Devek changed to welded later during the production life.

My Devek radiator failed after just 1 year. You will not have any luck getting ahold of Devek. I brought my radiator to a shop and they said it had leaks in multiple places. I ended up buying a new one for 928 international.

Are you serious? Devek used to take an aluminum core and an aluminum end cap and choose to JB weld it or exoxy them together instead of welding them!

THATS SINFUL!

I had no idea they or did that
