While I can't condone delays of delivery, non delivery and poor communication, it seems to me that Devek has also had a history of producing some very exceptional products. I truly hope Susan can do what is required to bring Devek back to its' former self. At the same time, I don't think it helps to make tasteless jokes/photos about someone who is attempting to do their best to support their family and recover a business, especially one that can only benefit 928 owners. Not to mention a business that has supported many 928 owners and 928 functions over the years. Susan, the best of luck and the best of the season to you and your family.

I never get in on these bashing threads and I am not going to get into this one except to say I hope the best for Susan and Mark.

I do know this much from dealing with the public, if you think it is going to take 3 weeks tell them it is going to take six weeks.

Then if something happens you can still get it out on time, and if everything goes as planned you come out looking good.

Like I said, i wish them the best in what ever they decide to do and the 928 world will be smaller with out them.

928 specialists???? We've not heard much from them, as of late.
Well last time they started a thread was back in May? With some nice s/c kits if I remember correctly

I think they may be a bit busy trying to get the SC kit to market and that they are alive and well.
It is a pleasure to deal with them.

Lets put things in perspective here. The Devek team has been invaluable in the advancement of our platform. They are in a tough tough business and as a buisness, they need to survive. Who knows if the custom products and OEM replacement business model can survive when strictly serving the 928. I think we have seen that it cant. The used parts business is an entirely different proposition, and when augmented with OEM parts, it can be a viable one.

I imagine that Devek (Marc and Susan) obviously are trying to make it work. They have done nothing but good things for me over the last 10 years. I can remember the hours spent on determining if the euro stuff would work on the US 84, designing the proper offsets of the rims, the level 1 headers, designing the exhaust system, giving me a deal one of the first level II suspension systems with intent for racing, (which is still working today, 10 years later) ,giving me an education on engine building 101 with the help in building one of the first 5 liter part euro engines made from the '84 US platform, and allowed me to rent shop time, and to employ Marcs help on the engine project. He helped with numerous issues, sometimes at 7am on the way to a race via cell phone!! I can remember some emergency race repairs at the shop as well. With scots car, Marc was happy to offer suggestions on how to fix a major engine problem, that wouldnt generate revenue for Devek (except for those new head studs Dont forget the devek days, the exposure to chassis dyno runs ( i had no idea this stuff exsisted before Devek turned me on to it).
They let me test their Devek monster at the track . I can remember the hours and hours discussing all sorts of 928 issues and ideas.

I think we often forget how hard it is to run a buisness these days. When you look at what it takes, its amazing that any of them can make a dime!

They are part of the 928 community, and lets not forget how small it is!

I hope they can keep it rolling. Even thought they have rolled 911s and other cars into their business, they are 928 folks at heart!

I do not think that anybody is criticising Deveks history, technical skills, major contribution to 928 advancement or love of the 928.
The question simply seems to be "today; can one order 928 parts from Devek with a reasonable expectation that they will arrive within a normal delivery period".
I hope the answer is "yes" but there are several people in this thread who seem to answering "no".

I wish Mark & Susan well

Those are my big three. I've ordered multiple times from each and they all have their own strong points. I haven't ordered from Carl yet - but I'm still working on getting my car up to standard before I consider any enhancements

I've had good experiences with all 3.. although I do think its worth phoning them directly if possible. Ordered a few bits from 928int and 928 Spec. this week.. got a few boxes from Roger a couple of weeks ago too.

Sure sounds like Devek might consider making a formal announcement that they are no longer in business, if that is indeed the case as inferred by Susan in her post.

Closing.
