Arrow '85 Euro FS in San Antonio area

Came across this during a whimsical classified search. Have no further info, just posting in case of interest. Current circumstances and geography prohibit me from going after it:

"928 S 85, V8, 5spd, Euro Version, $5,500 obo, 210-288-6304 "

No affiliation. Keep us posted.

I will call tomorrow and see what I can find out. If I have time and it sounds interesting I will followup and get some pictures for the board. I can't tell from the prefix (like in the old days) what part of town it is located.

Remind me to take the camera to work tomorrow.

I phoned the guy this morning. Apparently the car was purchased off of EBay from Tennesee. The owner was going to try and get it into Mexico but it has to be older than a 1978 model for non-American car.

It is Red with tan interior. Here is what he said - Body is OK. There is a clutch issue, can't get it into first. It is drivable and probably need cluctch adjustment etc. All other gears are ok. Windshiled is craked and needs replacement. Rear hatch latch is broken. Driver's side seat has a little more wear than would be expected. "Probably needs to be redone."

A/C not working, everything is there though??? Steering wheel needs work he would replace. Right head light not working, needs replacement. Fog light covers are missing. Dash some cracks and is fading.

I tried looking it up on Ebay but, was not sucessful. I used to be able to look at prior sales. The guy listing has title and will negotiate.

Russ, I remembered to bring the camera to work.

If anyone wants more info and wants me to go and take a look based on the above I will be happy to. I don't beleive the car is worth $5,500. I think this guy will take a lot less. He said he look at any offer.

Maybe one of you guys that is a wiz at ebay can find the posting. I hope it not the one that shows up on one of the posts that showed up when I did a search. It was red and from athens, tennessee.

Wish I was closer. Sounds like the perfect track car candidate.

Sunroof?

And thanks for looking into it and updating us.

Yes it does sound that way. Though someone may steal it or as you put it so well "spend $20,000 on repairs to get a $15,000 car".

Ah, well, figured it was a little rough.
Still pouting over the '85 manual that I let slip from an Ebay auction a year or so ago, only to hear from the mechanic that it was great.
This one sounds rough.
Still, '85 Euro..someone's got to have an interest in throwing a huffer on it and customizing whatever is worn just for bragging rights...and ROg is right in the neighborhood....just trying to live vicariously ....

SMTCapeCod, I know about living vicariously on this one. I dreamt about it last night. It sounds like it needs alot. You just keep thinking....if I did this....well that what we do all the time.

If there is anyone interested, I will be happy to look at it further, take pics, whatever. NeverLateInMyNineTwoEight, I can check on the sunroof.

How much does one pay for a parts car? I know this is a little better than a parts car. If the car was $2,500, is there value?

Hi Parker,

Thanks for the offer to check on the sunroof, but its not necessary. I was just wondering about it. I won't be able to act on this one, but if it were closer to me, I would make an offer on it. As it is now, even if he reduced the price substantially, the added cost of shipping would make the buy-in price more then I'd like to spend on one in that condition.

Now, if someone is driving a call hauler from Tx to Seattle and has room for another car, and can put this one on for me at a "lets share the cost" figure, well, I'd have to reconsider.

Anyone heading up this way anytime soon? - Ed

Where the heck is Rog, I would think it might be worth having on hand for (increasingly scarce) parts...

Rog is in the Dallas area

By my calculations thats about a 4 hour trip to get to San antonio, so he's hardly right around the corner.

wishful thinking, but This car dosent sound like tis worth the trip. I think this is one of those cars you try and get for less than 3K and just buy it sight unseen. You may do better simply parting it out if you wanted to make a buck or two.

It would be a shame to part that car out. 84 euros are not very common. Especially if it turns out to have sunroof delete.

I think at the right price it would be a great project or track car.
