Default New Interior Install Going On Now, 86.5

Robert Budd and one of his team arrived 24hrs ago and are well under way installing the new interior. Everything is new leather, and I mean everything. Color is going from brown surrounds with grey beige seats and carpet , to champagne II on everything. Seats will have Porsche Crest embroidered in the head rest. I will add new pics everyday over the course of his work. Cool.

I like how your workbench looks like a Carerra.

Very cool. I'm hoping to order my carpet in a few weeks from Rob. Keep the pics coming.

I wish I had the skills and gutz to do what you've done. I would love to disassembl and redo all the rubber bits behind the dash and then install new carpets. Can't wait to see the before/after shots.

Well I only ripped the carpet out don't give me too much credit. Robert will do the replacing, including all the ac pods, and small bits. I really have to give props to Mark Anderson and his team, Robert Budd, Paul Champagne for his great ideas and advice, Jeff Clark at Sunset... Getting the parts and advice to tackle a ground up restoration on a shark is overwhelming, and they all welcomed my questions and credit card with open arms. This has been 9 months in the making.

I remember Rob mentioned he was doing an install in Florida. I was intrigued and wondered how the cost would compare to shipping the parts out and then installing them yourself.

Regardless I still give you credit for restoring a classic!

Having a Robert Budd or Paul Champagne actually do the install on things that they have done is priceless. They know each and every in and out of the install, and the tricks... I can't imagine going through this process and not having Robert personally install, or sending the car to him. Both Robert and Paul have people send or bring the car to them all the time.

I need some new carpet too, but I don't want to have to remove the interior I just installed to do it.

Kudos to you for dumping this much money and energy into this car. Just make sure you enjoy driving it because that's the only way you'll get any value from it.

We are fast approaching the time when the ONLY way to have a really nice 928 is going to be by restoring one. There are not that many survivors out there. Very nice looking car, good job .

taking out the dash is as easy buffing out the paint, actually easier since you sit down on the job
