I tapped into the one on the car. This way you are seeing the exact signal going to your ECU.

Looking at A/F and boost gauges I need some feed back. Does anyone find that the Led's would become irritating after a while or would they provide a margin of error if they turn red.

I have my A/F mouted where the ash tray was - not annoying at all.

I'm going to move mine up to the A-Pillar before the 2008 driving season starts. Carl @ 928 Motorsports sells a nice 928 A-Pillar gauge pod. Just wish he had more of the 3-gauge pods.

I bought a 3 guage and 2 guage a-pillar pods from Carl. I'm not planning to use the three pod, yours if you want it Enzo.

I need to add a relay to the new front mounted fan's and need to know where to pick up the voltage to do this. I assume a relay and a fuse will be in order so where is the best place to attach this?
My kit is on order as we speak

Yes it is and to properly install a temperature controlled fan, you really want power to the fan at all time. This way when the engine is shot down, the fan keeps cooling it until the temps go down, otherwise the engine gets heat soaked. This in how I hooked up my fan and at first had concerns that maybe the funning fan will drain the battery but it only stayed don maybe a min at most. All modern cars have the fan run separate so it can cool the engine after shutdown.

Without the water pump circulating the water I don't see how the engine is beeing cooled much. Really the water in the radiator is getting cooled and not much else.

There will be some thermal circulation and it’s better to have the fan run after the engine than not so it’s a win-win situation. As well as the positive jumper post is pretty much the only good power source under the hood anyways.

There really is no need to over complicate somethng to end up with a lesser setup. hmm... is lesser even a word??

As far as boost or fuel pressure gauges, be careful of the digital type. make sure they have a good response time. An analog needle gauge is SO MUCH easier to read and look at, especially when things are moving rapidly. As for AFR ive used a simple narrow band device from "SplitSecond" for 7 years. I also have an LM1 wide band from Inovate...this can also be hooked up to one of there programable LED gauge faces. http://www.innovatemotorsports.com

Personally, I'd get the XD16+ kit from Innovate. That gives you the the WBO2, SSI-4 interface, and the XD16 gauge. With that one gauge you can set it to desplay, AFR, Boost, Temperature, Injector duty cycle, etc. It's a little bit of extra money now, but I think the long-term benefits of having it are very helpful if you ever have to diagnose an issue later on, or if you want to start experimenting.
