Default How much do you pay for insurance on your 928?

Just curious what kind of rates others are paying for their insurance. My Farmers agent quoted me $850.00 ish for coverage on my recently acquired 1983 928,seems a tad high to me,wondering if there is a Porsche specific insurer that is less money.Thanks.

Full coverage on both 928's. Not sure what limits, not the highest or the lowest.

$360 a year for each 928, I'm 30.

The "limits" are the most important thing. "Full Coverage" can be a policy that is a down payment on your bankruptcy, or something that will actually protect you. Without knowing limits, its an unknown what the outcome of a large claim will be.

One of the upsides on my 928 was that I could talk the insurance people into a rarely-driven collector-car policy on it. $150 / year with $1000 deductible, full coverage - requires that I have some other car as my daily driver and it also be insured with them.

Between that, and the ~$50 / year for license, I love the cost structure on this thing, compared to my former e46 M3.

I'm sorry I haven't memorized my insurance policy.

100,000 dollars per person liability, 300 per accident, unless you rent an apartment, and work in a mcdonalds, will do you no good in the event of a claim. If you are much higher on the social scale than that, and own a home, you need 500/500/500 with an umbrella.

Whoa!!! $300 per year!!

I pay $1200 per year, 100/300 and a 500 deductible (I think. I have never used it),
clean driving record, multi car discount, "good driver" discount from State Farm, for my '86.5 928 parked in Saratoga, CA., and I'm older than everyone. I knew State Farm was a rip off, but now I REALLY know it. I think I'll go out and T bone the next car that turns in front of me at an intersection just to get even.
Take my word for it, with neighbors like State Farm, you'd be better off living next to the state prison.....or maybe IN it. I have had a couple of claims over the years, but for small things like a hit and run by an unknown driver and a windshield, plus the &#@$%^&#@ filthy trick they pulled on me when someone rearended my other Porsche. Maybe I will look around for another carrier, since I need to upgrade my office insurance anyway. If there was ever anarchy in this country, guess who the first person I would hunt down would be?

I am presently renting (temporarily, while watching real estate go down as I knowingly smile).

I will bump it up to a half mil when I get back into real estate.

I made a decision on a policy then forgot about it. How is knowing going to benefit me? It's not like at the scene of an accident I'm going to be quizzed.

They are the ones that labeled me "uncoachable" when I interviewed with them. My book metrics were better than anyone in their whole system, but since I wasn't an unthinking robot, I wasn't a good fit. Bastards. I'd help Ron in his quest when the day came. I'd show them who's "uncoachable"
