Don't get me wrong I meant no disrespect. Stan is an awesome guy and his love for these cars is without question. I could only wish that the next car I buy is as well maintained as this one. But here's the problem for Stan. We all know him, his cars, and his character. The problem is that the rest of Ebay doesn't know him from Adam. That's the only point I was trying to make. I want him to make as much as he possibly can off his auction. I've bought cars off Ebay in the past so I know what to look for. One last point if I didn't have 5 cars already I would be hitting him up for this one. Jason

If it weren't for my nagging wife, my aching back, the bad economy, my limited space, my pain in the *** kids, my jerk of a boss, the distance involved and McCain down 2% in the polls; I'd buy that thing today.

No offense taken

On any day I can walk into my garage and see my M3 and 928 race car on jack stands. I can look at my 90 GT with a list of projects in hand. I can ask myself, do you want to spend the next x hours on the red 928 or on one of the cars I plan on keeping forever. I never have to wait for my answer

I did wash the red 928 for those photos, surprised you couldn't here me grumbling about the time lost...

To me the red 84 is a rescue. If it was really just about money, it would be worth more apart at this point. I am 99% sure it is an all leather interior and in very good shape (not perfect).

I did think about having it professionally detailed, but I could not justify the time and expense spent when fixing some the tlc issues makes much more sense to me.

Kind of funny, I was thinking about it, and this is the 5th 928 rescue for me. Each owner said after they bought their car how much better it was than they expected from the photos and my (overly) critical description.

I wouldn't want it any other way.

Stan testimonials go a long way too if you can post them with the auction. I know I like to see what others say about a seller they've had business with in the past. Infact a sellers feedback usually makes the difference of a bid or no bid for me especially on large ticket items.

I understand, that is why I take my feedback rating seriously. 100% positive.

Someone look at the car today, their comment:
"Thank you very much for taking the time to show me the car. It is truly a beautiful automobile!"

Is that because your garage is full of other 928s?

Nice looking '84. Great year IMO. I'm sure it will go to a good home.

Not unloved, since I periodically buy more parts for its eventual return to the track.

P.S. The proceeds ARE going into towards the stroker motor short block assembly.

Major league Kudos to Mr. Shaw. He felt this car was worth saving and he did it. It could have been separated into pieces for financial gain and he refused. He could have pimped it a bit, but then the likelihood increases that a non-sharker ends-up with something they don't understand how to fix and potentially an unhappy buyer. And, more importantly, higher chance of a parted shark.

It started for us as an off-handed quip a few posts back, but its coming here to Richmond. Our family has been fighting for the last 24 hours over who gets to nurse it back to highway-shape. Two of our kids, a son-in-law and my dad are all applying for the job. And ,my wife thinks she's bought something with potential of being her "back-up" shark, for times when the 86 auto needs service.

Nobody is really sure whether it just needs a new air filter or new running gear. It will not be flipped and will not be parted. Somebody here is going to be taking care of it. May take a little time and money, but now we will complete the rescue.

All that's left moving some money around, renting a trailer and trying to find MA on a map.
