Yeah unfortunately Andre was right, image is everything. At least when selling cars. A nice set of floormats will add $500 to the price you get, detailing will really crank it up. I've also found that people will just surf away if the pictures aren't right there in the ad. It's too easy to sift through pics on ebay and making an additional click to an external site requires too much effort. Says a lot about the current generation, doesn't it.

Many people buy these cars based on how they think they will LOOK when seen driving it or how it will look parked in their garage. If it LOOKS NICE people assume that it probably was well cared for , loved and a "good " car. It is human nature to make judgements based on appearance alone When selling a car make it look as showroom new as possible without spending much money and post many ,many photos of the car in good looking surroundings like in front of an expensive house ...need not be your house People assume that nice house ,nice car , probably could afford to take good care of it ....

For me, about how "I" feel when driving or owning a car is what matters. I look at performance numbers and price first. Of course that is one of my personality defects, I don't really care what others think when I know what I am doing makes sense and/or is right.
Of course I did get a detailing certificate for father/grandfathers day, maybe I will use that (but probably after I fix the minor mechanical defects).

Seems a bit ironic:
I perform thousands of dollars on preventative maintenance on my 90 GT and keep having issues with it.
This 84 sat for an unknown period of time before I adopted it and returned it to running status. People ask me whether they can drive it across country, use it for a vacation/honeymoon car, etc. I answer honestly that I really don't know but presume it will need some hours of review and TLC before such a trip.
Today, I go out to move the 84 after it has been sitting for at least a couple of weeks, it starts right up and runs just fine, including the engagement of reverse after a brief wait.
Some day I hope my GT is as reliable

The 84 is on ebay right now. I am probably going to drop the reserve quite a bit...

Stan car looks great but then I see the pics of the dirty interior. I'm sorry but I gotta ask "How bad do you really want to sell the car?" A vacume doesn't take much time or cost much money but a clean car goes a long way in selling it. Also far away pics of a car to me are signs that the car has serious flaws that the seller is trying to hide. I know you love these cars and know I'm telling you the truth. I'm sorry I'm the one that has to say it.

Someone watching the auction has provided a partial carfax report indicating the reason for the Euro fenders on the car: 09/20/2000 New Hampshire Police Report Northwood, NH Accident reported Involving a front impact with another motor vehicle The car has a clear title.

Hi,
Not sure if it will help at this point as there's only 21 hrs left on ebay:
1. Get some black leather dye and touch up the seats, especially the driver's side bolster. It will improve the look of the interior immensely.
2. Lose the pictures of the gas pedal and the warped side panels. A written description will suffice. People that know these cars already have an idea.
3. Wipe down the interior with some ArmorAll, or something and take new interior pictures. A little shiny finish always gets people's interest.
I was a Used Car Manager for 16 years at several New Car Dealerships in the SF Bay area. I learned to market cars in a very competitive local. I think your car as a lot of potential. If it does sell it will be at a price that allows for some reconditioning and still be a good deal for someone. Good luck!
