DANG - Sure wish this wasn't on the Left Coast!
I can't believe the folks @ Devek or 928 INTL haven't jumped on this - what a profit making chance for them - from a used parts standpoint!

I think my mechanic was looking for one of these. I actually have one in my garage that will be in the same form - but I wouldn't sell it for 5 bucks. At least 500 dollars, even if the shell is an auto.
I emailed him to ask WHERE in Cali he is.
Also, if it is a clean title.

I don't see why it would have much value, even as a race car...
You can get a used 928 in bad condition, *with* all the parts, for cheap... So even though you have to strip it, you still have all the parts you will need to put it back together as a racer...Like fenders, hood, etc... If this car really is just a shell, you will have to buy all those other parts... It's easier to buy a more complete car...

If this body has been completely stripped down to bare metal EVERYWHERE then this would save a lot of grief. Find an inexpensive 80-83 Euro S, start transfering parts, and have a VERY lightweight racer. If a part is not needed for racing, don't transfer it. It's easier to control the weight if you start with a bare shell and add to it, rather than start with a whole car and remove stuff. Look at Don Hanson and Mark Kibort, they are STILL removing stuff from their race-cars to save pounds. Of course, it's not cost effective to build a street car from it.
Mike, the body of an automatic would have to be modified slightly to install a 5 spd.
Rich.

Now theres two ideas come together. Get the bare shell AND a complete Euro. Build the one out of the other and use only what you need like Richard says. You could rebuild as you build and make a very nice race/track car. It would be one heck of an educational experice to boot. Wish i had the resources to do it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />
