Cool

Point of interest- after the '84 models: The factory basically built only automatic transmission floor pans.

My investigations reveal that the pre-'84 models had two floor plans. The silly "slush-pump" equipped models [sorry in advance to those that actually need these-] needed more room for the torque converter, so a different floor plan with different seats were employed in '85. This new rear floorplan was used in both manual and automatic versions this year and the rest.

N!

I chose the lesser of two evils and picked a '79 AT in near perfect condition over an '83 5-speed that needed another 6-7k worth of work to even come close to the condtion of the '79. Some of us dont need ATs, but there are more of them to choose from.

FWIW, my daily driver '93 Ranger 4X4 is a 5 speed as is my wifes '98 Cherokee Sport.
