A quick update, I got into it over the weekend and added a few drops of oil - problem solved! Now if I can only get to all of the other squeaks and rattles ...

I am trying to lub the blower motor's top bearing. I am confused or perhaps my 86S has a different blower motor.
I removed the rubber hood seal.
I removed the plastic shield that covers the motor, the wiper motor, and the AC expansion valve.
I can not find a rubber plug that covers the motor's top bearing.
There are three indents in the plastic motor housing. The front has a mounting screw. The center looks like an injection molding tit. And the rear appears to be solid.
Am I in the right area?

Wish I had a pic of the area .... the fan impeller rotates on a vertical axis, and if you open the accordion boot that connects the blower discharge to the heater box ( just in front of the windshield), the impeller can be seen. IIRC, this will visually locate the top bearing - which is nicely placed just under some body sheet metal: another tight squeeze, but accessible.

Re the dipstick - I've always been amazed by guys running all over the garage searching for an oil can ... which is usually misplaced, lost, empty, "loaned" to your wife, left on the lawnmower, ... when the reality is that our cars are the worlds largest 8 qt. oilcans .... with a drop sized applicator stuffed in front for our convenience ... Clever, those Porsche engineers

I'm in the same boat. I went in today and referenced this thread a few times before finding that my problem won't be solved by this fix. Hood's got to come off and blower will come out.
While I've got the hood off this weekend I'm going to have to reglue the new liner for my hood with some other kind of glue because it's coming off in a few spots. At least I'll get two things taken care of at once that way. I don't think I would have pulled the hood for either reason, but this will push me to fix them both.

I hear you. The dipstick idea was pure genius, some would have defined the problem as: 'I need an oil can because I need to oil this'. You defined it as 'This needs oil'. Seemingly minor difference, but it changes the solution entirely.
One of my favorite quotes is :'People don't need drill bits, they need holes'.

My motor didn't have a plug either; when I removed it I could shake the cage very easily.
Replaced with a good used unit......quiet air movement.

Hummmm - just a thought for those blowers with a sealed motor housing ( no top access to the bearing): if removal and replacement is the only option left, why not drill an oil hole in the 'dimple' before removal .... and literally, 'give it a shot'.

My local rebuilder tells me that it can not be rebuilt. My bearings are fine except they are dry so I am going to try to lub them with spray oil. I may try cutting a hole and installing a plug so that I can try spraying it in the future if necessary without pulling it.
