rev limiter problems
My 1988 Porsche 928 with auto trans allows me to rev over 7,000+ and will not cut off, I don't think their is a working rev limiter on this vehicle. Where is the rev limiter how do i repair it?

And, the search function is a great thing.
With the issues you are having, and since you currently have the the intake apart, how in the hell would you know if you are hitting 7k rpm?

rev limiter
I bought a new idle stabilizer, gaskets, and vacuum lines. Yesterday I took off my intake manifold replaced the idle idle stabilizer, gaskets, and vacuum lines then put the intake manifold back on. I also here a suction noise, I am not sure what is could be. I made sure all the vacuum lines where connected. Their are some electrical wires that where cut off that are coming in from the firewall. I am going to try and find out what they where for.

In kick down mode the KD relay interrupts power to the Fuel pump relay at red line, over rev protection safety. Wide open throttle, EZK signals LH to interrupt power to the Fuel pump relay at red line.
Not easy diagnoses or fix. If you have a working tach I would remove and clean the spade connectors on the relays, LH XXV, EZK XVI, Pump XX and KD Relay. If still not working, exchange the fuel pump relay from a working system. Next step is a pin point signal test at the LH and EZK control modules. LH and EZK are looking for an engine RPM signal.

The rev limiter is in the LH ECU. It ismost unlikely to fail. If you just blip the throttle the rpm may go over the rev limit, even thought the fuel is cut off at the correct rev point.
