Wow - got this month's Motor Trend today, and right there on page 62 is a pic of a concept Vette from 1973 - from the angle in the photo, it looks remarkably like a 928! That is the very year the design of the 928 began. Coincidence? Weird....

 

Do you mean this concept? I don't get motortrend, but this was the only 1973 concept vette I could find. If this is it, I'm not seeing it.

No, it's not those. I don't have the mag with me now, but I think it's called the XP-783 or something like that, and it was a 1973 concept vette. The actual concept from the front does not look like a 928, but the angle of the car in the photo in the hard copy magazine on page 52 looks almost exactly like a 928 - it was taken from the rear driver's side. I couldn't believe the similarity. Check it out at a newstand...Wish I knew how to copy/paste photos....

nope. It is a rear driver's side pic, and the car is red in the pic. You'll know it when you see it. I couldn't find it online, only in the hard copy....

I found a picture from an ebay add of a corvette that has very similar door and quarter windows.

Then I found a concept COrvette that looks like an NSX

edit: the designation for that red vette is the XP897 from '73. Found a few more pictures from the front, can't find a rear view

 

I think that one looks more like a Pantera.
