Default TT,Engine,Tranny, brakes-removal

I just bought a parts car. I made a deal with a friend of mine if he goes and gets it, takes it to his place (lift, power tools what not) and lets me use his place to remove the above items, he can have the rest.. Do you think all these items could be removed in a day? I have done a tranny and TT.. i figure 2 guys about 2 hours on those.. How long is that engine going to take? What does an engine with all the externals weigh?

Thanks

Easy for two do do this in one day. Depends on how careful you need to be with wiring and hoses.

A **** load. A 4.5l 16v makes my engine stand groan! I think 700 lbs or thereabouts

Wow,,,so its going to take at least 3 guys to move the engine out of the truck into my garage....

Ed, I dunno, the guy picking it up can't go get it for a few weeks.. It will be no hurry so whenever it works best for all that will be involved.

You can, if the car is high enough, take the entire engine/TT/Trans/K members (front/back) and rear A-arms down from the body in one go. Then, disassembly and removal is easier. I have done it three times. Don't ask.

I don't think I have all the tools to do it that way.

A big stun gun or alot of strenth on a big ratchet, a jack, some stands, and some good strong wood to stack in various places.
