Alright guys i found the reservior for the trans. I think the trans is slipping. Not too too bad i mean it'll still fry them off butI can feel it from take off. Do the auto trans have any band adjustments or anything like that? Or is it Pull the trannie time?

Welcome to the ranks!!

I have a page on my website that is linked below in my sig line that Jim Morehouse created ("new 928 owner click here")a must to browse through for a new 928 owner. It contains a whole bunch of different links to websites that contain tips and procedures for fixing things.

Not to sound like ED but see if you can find an owners manual for your car...it can shed some light on some questions you may have. Also, www.928gt has a page that lists all the fuses and relays for your car...PRINT IT OUT and place it in your glove box.

Other than that, post your questions here, many of us have already BTDT (been there done that) I think Wally has a shirt with the rules of posting a question just be sure to post the year/model of your car.

[EDIT] I see Tony just told you about the link regarding his website!

Jeff:

The transmission is one of those areas that I haven't dived into yet, but it can be adjusted.

I'm not sure if your model year has the same set up, but here's link to how to adjust whether the tranny shifts harder or softer.

It also describes how to bypass the "kickdown" switch. The switch is located under the gas pedal. When you stomp on the gas, the switch is depressed and tells the car to drop into the lowest gear possible without red-lining. The bypass switch allows you to do that without flooring the gas and holds the low gear longer.

Hope this helps:

Jeff,

You might just need to change the fluid and filter. Try that first before you start yanking things out. The AT's are very sensitive to fluid levels. I can show you what to do all that if you'd like (i'm due for it myself) but first order a trans filter kit from 928 Specialist first and get back to me.

PS - your right that is sick, i lived on Cotter. I was there from Mid '96 untill Jan '99. I was just over that way yesterday eating dinner with my mother at the new italian eatery next to the post office.

Welcome to the party, pal.

I wonder, Jeff, if you know of my cousin, Bill Piche. He runs Cyberpump.com. I use to train with him in my younger days.

Jeff: Welcome. I assume you have a printer and lots of toner; if my experience is any guide. I must have printed 500 pages so far of tips from here, nichols and pirtle. Not that I have needed them all (yet). Check out the new visitor thread here, first and soon you will be "one" with the beast!!

Tony and Big dave..thanks for the info guys. Sorry it took so long to get back. I 'm in North Carolina Giving a Benchpress Seminar today and wasnt around a pc for a bit hahaa. Thanks . That harder shift section was pretty funny. I remember you could do that to the old GM transmissions as well. It was coo to see tha there are SOME parrellels between The two cars. I might be better off that it's lookin hahaha.

John, The lady that had the car kept the maintenence record of it through 2001 when it was parked. All the fluids are clean. Funny story about how I got it. Apperently their mechanic took it out drunk and ran it in a ditch , messed up the right quarter and the front fender , along with the spoiler on the front if there was one I haven been able to get it all in my head yet. The car only has 96,000+ original miles and runs like a bat out of hell. The owners had a $2000 bill to get it out of the ditch and impound and they never paid it. A year later I tell my buddy I wanted a cool car and he tells me about the Porsche . I go dowm for the 6 hour drive. How much do you want? He said $500 for me. So I gave a handgun for it........and theres the story of my car. \

Steve thanks alot for tha advice and John I gotta email ya to get together and you can check this puppy out!

No Problem Jeff.

Good deal BTW - I'd trade my Annaconda for a 928.

Alright!! Gun nuts on the board too!! Great! I had 2 44 anacondas, I shot those things donw off of brock bridge rd. That the windage kept going off. After I readjusted both of them two or three tines (after thousands of rounds) It turn out that the barrels were actually unscrewing. Colt bought them both back from me and I boiught two sig 229's. Two hands baby! And I didnt even know that USP made a match grade weapon!! That rocks. Talk about the mercedes of match grade weapons. They used to be special forces only back in the early ninetys. I've never even held one before. I would ask how it fires but I guess "Match Grade" automatically says clean break and smooth recoil. hahahahaa I'll bet that thing has got some killer sights on it.

Welcome to the jungle Jeff. There is a world of knowledge here. You'll use it more than anywhere else to get to low-down on 928's.
