Post New to the board. Just picked up my first Porsche.

I got a nice 1983 928s with an auto trans. I cannot find the dipstick to check the fluid level hahaha. I had a hard time finding the battery also but found it online. My buddy turned me on to this board. He's got a 5 speed and had no idea what to tell me.

Welcome to another 83! Whats your VIN ??
Auto dipstick is a plastic bottle which can be seen by looking in towards the centre from the rhs, just in front of the rear pax wheel - no joke! engine warm, but not HOT, flat ground, oil level should be in a a notch in the metal that holds the bottle. changes will not be good if it is wrong. Read the FAQs, set up a link to Nichols and the other rennlister with sites - Pirtle, Tony Harkin etc, they are invaluable.

Jeff

The dipstick is located on the front pass. side as you're standing in front of the car with the hood open!

Look under the upper radiator hose on the left side...It's probably hiden under some hoses and wiring....

Welcome to the group and best of luck with your ride.

Thats not to far away from me. I used to rent a house in Harundale right near GBHS, and my in-laws live off Elvaton Rd. There are quite a few of us in Northern AA county that are pretty active.

There is another 928 guy who i think lives in the Old Mill area. I keep seeing a black 78-82 running around that area.

Hope to see you around soon.
