Me on my wicked TLS...

I used to ride a Kawasaki ZX-6R but sold it 4 months ago and bought my shark 2 months ago. I did no racing, had good fun and said goodbye to the world of motorcycling. (safer on four wheels )

Cool

This is what I "race"- NOT!

I'm just not into the race thing with bikes. I love the power, but I confine my motoring to 4 wheels.

I have a friend up in Monroe, Michigan who occasionally races. He hasn't gotten hurt, but he hasn't won either. He was arrested once for trying to outrun the cops, so now he races on dirt~

The only thing I do that involves dirt also involves a vacuum cleaner!

Here's a pic of my bike. My second, I keep it in the living room, since it doesn't leak. I bought it in Temperance, Michigan, drove it to West Palm Beach, Florida, then onto Dallas, Texas, and from there to Orlando. I drive it about 4 times per year- it generally starts on the third kick.

This is my second CB- my first one was a "sand cast"-

N!

No racing here, but IMHO, everyone should learn to ride. Riding my Ninja 600R probably taught me more good driving skills than any time behind the wheel - the level of driving awareness required to stay alive on a bike is tremendous and extremely benficial to any driver.

Plus, what got me convinced that could maybe work on mechanical stuff was a Yamaha SR250G, which arrived to me as a garage-cleaning "gift" literally in boxes. All one cylinder and drum brakes of it. She runs now Thump, thump, thump...

(cool bike, Normy. Love the UJMs)

I ride a Trek 1000, 24 speed road bike (hey you asked). It keeps me in shape after sitting at a desk all day long.

I ride a BMW K1200 RS. I dont race. Its a thougt that comes and goes from time to time but I still prefer to race on a car and gently ride on a bike. One of this days...

Before my beloved BMW I owned a Suzuki Bandit and before that, several "low power" bikes.

I learned to ride a bike (13) before I learned to drive a car.

My first real bike, at 16, was a 79 Kawasaki CSR 650 with an extended swing arm, K&N filters and a Kerker drag pipe.

Since then Iv'e owned
85 Suzuki TS250 Enduro
85 Yamaha RZ350 - Kenny Roberts S.E. (Ported 30 over) Wiseco Piston/Rings,Barnett Racing Clutch, Toomey Exp. Chambers, Braided Lines, Terazzi Rear Sets, Michelin Slicks.
87 Suzuki GSXR 750 - Vanes Hines Exhaust/Jet Kit
92 Kawasaki ZX600C Ninja - Kerker Pipe, Uni Filters (sold it a friend who is still riding it today.)

and my present bike -

Hybrid 98 CBR600F3 - Two Bros Carbon Fiber Pipe, Michelin Slicks, Aftermarket Burple Paint.

I agree that everyone should at least learn how to ride a bike. Besides learning the logistics of it all, it will give a better understanding of what bikers are at risk too. At 16, I went to the Police Station in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and enrolled in their motorcycle instructional program. It began with the classroom and went to the parking lot. Good stuff, they even supplied the motorcycle (Kawaski 440 LTD belt drive) if you didn't have one. If your interested in riding, take a cours and you'll be thankful you did.

Drive the Shark & Ride the 'blade. Two different but awesome ways to cover ground at speed!!

At 50 yrs of age, I still enjoy a bit of wind in the face, but m'lady prefers the luxury of the P-car.

As my sig states, I currently have a 1982 CX500 Turbo. Only produced one year and I love it. The Turbo was a bike that you either loved or hated. I'm here to tell you that 19psi of boost in a 5th gear roll-on is an awesome feeling on a bike.
Previous bikes were a Suzuki GT380 2-stroke wheelie king and a Honda CB650 Custom. I've enjoyed all my bikes and I have owned the Turbo for 10 years.
Next bike is a 1982 dressed CBX and/or a 1982 Katana.

Cheers

I rode bikes almost exclusively through my teens and twenties, only moving to fulltime 4 wheels as I was turning 30. I Haven't had a bike since (10 yrs). But I do have a ducati shop just round the block from me and they are very tempting!

Cheers
