Default Another mystery item!

Sounds crazy but I never noticed this before and I've no idea what it is. Someone here please enlighten me!

It's bolted to top of inlet just behind the throttle cable bracket. It's neatly blanked off with rubber cap - behind that is a 3 pin male connector.

presumably for some kind of diagnostic plug-in, but what?

IIRR its TDC sensor which is only used for diagnostics. Whole flywheel sensor thing is not connected to LH or EZK.

Thanks very much for the info. Just a shame it didn't turn out to be some long-neglected item which once reconnected transformed my car's performance!

Yes, a TDC sensor. It was used with some type of VW tester AFAIK.

This could be useful because the reference mark on the flywheel toothed wheel is not at TDC.

Ive never seen that before. Is that on early S4's?

I did always wonder what the casting boss was for on that side of the intake manifold. Now I know.
