Darkside: No offense meant. just noticed "purists will hate it..." underneath your sig and thought it kinda applied here too.

Bet that car went faster down the front and back straight. ^^^^^

Can't whack a wing on a race car.
You lose too much valuable advertising space.

Except it wasn't Penske's idea to remove the wing, it was one of the Acura's idea. Too bad, although the #6 car, which was on pole, got a couple of bad breaks, the very consistent team of Romain & Timo in the 7 car once again hunted down an R10 at the end, and came out the victor. And the Ferraris continue to destroy each other allowing Patrick Long to take a 2nd ?(GT2- 911GT3RSR) in his first ALMS race in a while...

Kim: Great pics although I sure would have hated to have been the mazda behind the whacked wing. Thanks for remembering this thread.

Well I got my GTS back from the paint shop today.
New rear hatch less wiper and wing holes.
Painted rear bumper less Bumperettes. Euro Look.
Painted rear quarters less marker lights.

Bumper is not attached to the car so has some waviness.

Next step is front bumper repaint and get rid of the front side markers.

I think I like them better with the wing. If any of you want to pull yours send it my way the OB would look great with it.

Sorry Roger

Hey Rog......that's one nice, smooth, bare butt you've got there. I'd love to see some rear 3/4 photos too. As you know, when I started this thread last year, a lot of folks thought I was effen nuts! Its nice to know that you, Sterling and other respected members thought differently.

You pre-empted me though because we can't start on my body work for a couple of months. Of course, I'm whacking the wing, rear bumperetts and rear wiper and also adding a GTS rear cover and mirrors. All that is AFTER the new Boge shocks, eibachs sport springs, x-pipe, drilled rotors with SS lines, injectors, motor mounts, pan gasket, tranny kit, all fuel, vacumn and water hoses, all belts, fluids and a host of other WYAIT things are installed. Then.....after the body we start on the interior! Hey, after spending $7 grand already, I'm only 12 MORE grand from having a 15 grand car! BUT, it will be worth it to me when its done.

I don't want to admit how much has been / will be invested into my car. And now it needs paint.
