Um, John.......... I think you just made the case against charging admission even stronger. More traffic = more ad views = more ad $$$.

Not really. When was the last time you saw a pop up? Or how many banner ads do you see?

Value for money would really be the issue.

I'm not complaining. I am a paid member. It just seems that the site isn't marketed as well as it could considering the traffic.

And that's exactly why Rennlist feels more like a community rather than just a vast roosting place...

Back from the Weird Al concert, what did I miss?

EDIT - Oh.....need to digest this

Whoa, who brought up Audi world? The form that opens up like a bastard child of Windows 3.11 explorer? That's an apples to apples comparison on content

A visit by danglerb for the most part is really is not worth counting, so that alone would reduce the pelican count significantly

Hehe! He still visits Renn, under some alias, and posts links on Pelican almost routinely!

RENN WINDSHIELD THREAD,DANGLERB REFERENCED IN POST #14

So, you can subtract a few 'on this side of the fence' as well...

What if you were to migrate your server to an old fashioned room sized mainframe computer, you could brag of having the BIGGEST forum!

Always? No. But quite often.

I used to have a direct link the the 928 forum, but when I switched to Firefox it quit working and I've been too lazy to fix it. That was almost 18 months ago.

Edit:
I used to frequent AudiWorld, but can't remember the last time I stopped by. I never found it very interesting - or useful.

Audiworld is free and there was a time a few years ago when you didn't have any real advertising on the site. I remember when the online ads started up there was some groaning about it but all in all folks adjusted. I use Mozilla Firefox to browse so maybe that's the reason I don't get any pop ups. I pulled the AW page up just now to actually look at the ads and they're simply not intrusive and quite frankly, I appreciate them. You see an ad, you can ask someone on the forum right then and there what their experience has been with that business and you'll get 30 answers. The forum moves very, very quickly and the moderators are no fuss no muss. In fact, they do their jobs so quickly and efficiently besides Jason Teller himself, I couldn't tell you who they are. No lip.

To me Rennlist doesn't feel like a community so much as just a tight clubhouse, which for the most part is fine. AW is more a community in that even when people have moved on to other models in the brand or from the brand altogether they still engage in online and real world activities. It's sectioned off quite nicely so you can waste time in Off Topic or get your answers in your model forum or regional forum. I don't think there's any reason to be defensive as both are fine forums imho, there's just always more than one way to do things.

P.S.

You can enter whichever Audiworld forum you like directly without hitting the main page.
