I think gearing ratio makes a big difference to oil viscosity and therefore front wheel backspacing, leading to a more efficient squish

For the 12 years or so that I've driven my car, I've mainly run 10-40 Castrol GTX or other brand. Currently running 15-40 Castrol GTX "Diesel" as a "clean out" (per Doug Hillary's recommendation). That will be dumped shortly in favor of Delvac 1 5-40 synth.

I think I've use all of them, but I seeem to think 15-50 works best in my car.

15w-50 is in the car now, but since I've never really driven it, does it matter in my case?
