I started this morning. Dirtier than hell - my face is black with the dangling sway bar rubbing up against it - I look like Al Jolson! Its getting hot here in Texas too, so I'll probably only do another hour or so and take a break until the evening.

I got the steering rack out - now its time to start on the mounts. I am not in a great rush because I have new PS lines on order and they won't be here to Monday.

Best of luck

But if i dont need them.. then i guess I need clutch work to get rid of the vibe..... 6 in one 1/2 dozen in the other I guess.

The motor mounts are easy to evaluate. You should be able to almost get your finger between the oil pan and the crossmember. If the oil pan touches or is real close to the crossmember, the mounts are toast.

Also, you can look at the mounts themselves. Note the "safety hooks". They are on the rear side of the passenger mount and the front of the driver side mount. The top part of the hook originates from the top of the mount, while the lower part is on the base. The tips interlock. These separate as the mount collapses. If you can get a finger or more between the tips of these interlocking hooks, the mounts are gone.

I can not get even my pinky finger tbetween the cross and pan. I think i felt the hooks and my index finger slides in there no problem. room to spare.... I have now moved the laptop the garage. I will go change into my dirty clothes, get the rest of the car on stands, turn the AC on, print the above sheets and have at it.....
