Thoughts?

 

they are all trying to compair newer vets to older 928s,

and not all 928 5 speeds grind when changing gears.

 

What Lizard said..... Match the car with the year then do the test. They are comparing apples and oranges in some cases.

 

I've been a member of that forum for a while, threw my .02 in.

It's not that bad. Much more on target than Corvette discussions in this thread.

 

Funny thread. The two cars aren't shouldn't be compared. But even the '95 GTS was 0-60 in 5.2 sec and ZR-1 4.9 sec, LT1 5.2 sec. Our's are crusiers not meant for straight line speed like the Vettes seem to be. Can't believe people like the digital dash and squarness on the Vette interiors over our ergonomically designed ones. Who had the Transaxle first.....

 

I'm a bit tempted to go there and say something like:

I have a 928, love it, and therefore it's irrelevant whether it's faster than a Corvette or not. Enjoy what you have and like - and don't try to race me. Because I won't.

 

There seems to be no women in that thread, so if you were to say that, the men there would read it as

I know more women that own Corvette's than 928's.
Most female Porsche owners I know drive Boxsters

'Ive had the 79 for over 5 years, my 84 C4 for over 3. Apples and oranges comparison. I also am a member of that forum and a 928 vs Corvette thread comes up from time to time, always with the same misconceptions and misinformation.
