Say, I just got an email from the Crescent Hotel, and the front desk manager tells me the event isn't until September!!!!
I think anyone who has made reservations at this Hotel had better ping them, and make sure of their reservation dates!

Well, got some 928 news today!

Motor is in, new rack installed and new A/C compressor should be installed by tomarrow.

The Service Writer in charge said that as long as everything goes good after the first turning of the key, I should be able to pick it up next Tuesday at the latest.

Now for the bad new, I won't have a hole in my schedule to go pick it up till friday (five-six hour drive one way, remember). With other PM's needed before the car could be ready for a long trip and not enought time to complete them, I will not be making it SITO this year.

Max,
A 'REAL' Texan would just push his sHARk to Arkansas.
Tis a shame, I wanted to see the motor.
Perhaps a summer or fall get together with the crew out of Austin? I have to admit, I was wondering about your new motor and a belt retension some where in the midst of the trip.
Do a proper break-in and we'll see you sometime this year -I hope. Say, while your up at the shop see if they can give you a proper walk thru on wheel alignment, you know ... the real world as opposed to the Book. O.K.? I'll see if I can catch one of those Ghost's at our haunted hotel and bring one back to Texas.

Talk to "The Man" (The P-shop mechanic, Hans) this morning!

Sounds like the Tuesday (18th) completion date has been pushed to the following Monday (24th) because of a few missing parts and some bolts that needed to be ordered. O-well, what a few more days when I've waited this long?

John and all lucky attendees,

As far as country driving goes Eureka Springs and Arkansas in general have some of the best Porsche car roads in the states, the road going through Russellville Ark. was a blast to drive years ago. The only other place I can remember having so much fun driving around on country roads was Alabama (from Birmingham through Bessemer to Tuscaloosa the back way).

You guys have fun and take lots of pictures.

Cheers

Max

Update-

I just got off the phone with the Crescent Hotel personnel (phone - 800-342-9766. Be sure to mention the Shark Rate).

Currently, there are 18 rooms left out of 65 availble. Also, they have corrected their calendar to reflect that the event is indeed next weekend.

Let me know you coming! Here, or privately will work as well.

TIA-

Your Humble Shark Host...

Talking

Jay,
Locate a car wash we can take over. And a Goodwill Collection dumpster for polishing rags, old T shirts.
I'm sure I'll have about 40 pounds of bug internals splattered all over Pattycakes...I suspect we won't be the only one's.
All attendees: don't hole up outside of town by a creek trying to do a clean-up. We can get some
munchies and gab/check out the various sHARKs while waiting our turn at the soapy water. Burnouts are better, too.
Along these same lines...I took the bra off for the body work don't plan on a re-install till winter - collects abrasives -.
Sometime ago there was a post where the guy used some cheapy, clear - near contact paper - rolled sheeting to protect the finish during endurance runs. The stuff leaves little residue and is easily removed.
Ring a bell, anyone?
The rates are still a little rich, I need something to drink on ... er...eat on. I'll call again tomorrow.

Aloha Dudes (and ladies):

We enjoyed ourselves driving another thousand mile weekend with the shark people once again.

Teri and I each collected a nice souvenir of the spectacle, which is something we can live with considering all we were up to over those 1000 miles...

Lots of triple digit action but only one ticket each...lessee, mine was 90 in a 75 but the cop dropped it to 85, which in OK seems like a non-mover according to him.

Teri was nailed in KS about an hour from home at 80 in a 65, but the ocifer wrote it at 79 in 65 as she did touch the brakes a bit (late---ooops!) and that's what he said he had on the unit.

What a bonefish! Should have given her a break. She has a clean record too so she may opt for the diversion action.

Nice to meet all the Hound Dogs... Dennis Wilson and Sharon, Brett, David, Johns (Struthers and Kelly), and the Snowball from HELL, Snowy aka GOATFACE the sandwich bonefish. Watch out for those girls Snowy that look like guys down there!

Whassup with that stealth VIN anyway? Har har.

Great roads, people and fun down in Eureka Springs and surrounding hills and dales. Good times partying with the Ozark contingent.

Mahalo for putting it on Jay, let's do it again.

See ya,

Marc White
Teri Knebel

p.s. First post I think on the web forum...

don't know if I like it or not...

Marc,

Sorry about the tickets. Maybe I should have given Teri the plaque. Johns car was doing OK when we parted in Tulsa. BTW tell Teri that I've ordered the new brake pressure switches to replace the sluggish ones. 8^)

Thanks Dennis, Marc, and John!

Trust me my freinds, we WILL do it again next year.

Expect more driving time on great raods, and yes, I'll learn HTML and set up a Website for all to see (and register for next year).

All my best...

Slag you say?! OK Snow-Rat, this is going to be some fun!

She obviously has great taste. Oh my.

Teri can drive too, quite the thing to watch.

Glad you like her, everyone does.

Can't wait to blow up that pic of your engine bay VIN number.
