Default Heeeelp!!! C&R Radiator & crush washers

Instruction say to use three supplied crush washers per side for cooling lines. Thewashers are as big as the nut which doesn't allow for the nut to grab any threads. Can someone who has installed one of these clarify what I'm suppose to do.

Only issue I have encountered is the fan blade knicks the power steering hose. I have to remove it and slide it back 1/4 of an inch. Looks to be pretty simple. Would have been nice to have one job go right from start to finish without issue, but this issue shall soon pass.

I was going to reply "they are crush rings, crush them a bit and they will fit!" but decided not to post instead.

I guess the question now is was there a certain order that washer placement allowed for a better fit?

Perry, they can't be as big (thick) as the nut.

Perry, we were watching you solve your own problems and chose not to interfere with the discovery process. I've posted some threads like this myself. However, to get the PS hose away from the fan blade just loosen the reservoir clamp and turn the reservoir a bit in the appropriate direction, then retighten the clamp. Did you really need to be told that?

Nope, got the PS one figured out. I just wasn't aware so much had to be transferred over from the original radiator. I figured it out and all went smooth.

Ron,

Just got through installing one of those in the hotel parking lot at SATL. Send me a PM, you may need to check a few things related to the installation.
